I want to first start by saying I've been to many buffet restaurants. NEVER have I experienced what I experienced on yesterday. Me an my partner came to dine an of course it was around 430ish so we didn't expect too much considering it was going on dinner hrs. But as we sat to dine alot of food pans were literally empty. We then asked our server "atleast we thought she was our server" if any fresh food would be out soon bc the pans were empty. We only asked for 2 things Hot wings/ribs. They acted as if we asked them to go out of there way. When the pans clearly were empty. We ignored the first 2 signs. But as time went on I noticed our server refilling every tables drink around us but ours. Literally I had to walk across the room and refill my OWN drinks THREE times. An each time my server watched me An saw my cup empty an refused to refill it! Idk if it was bc we were young African American gay couple or not but the service LITERALLY was HORRIBLE. She never even gave us our bill. We then got ready to leave an she followed us to the register an threw our Bill at the cashier as if she was saying "you deal with it." we then asked if there were any issues bc we too are servers an students an couldn't understand why we were being treated the way we were being treated. The cashier then apologized with little to no remorse an told us to pay. We then asked for a manager an she claimed there was no manager. My partner threatened to not pay bc of the terrible service. Unless they at LEAST comp his drink. An she took her phone out and took a picture of us as if we were trying to dine an ditch. We tried explaining that we want to pay! An we usually over tip our servers bc we are servers an the fact we were treated so badly I decided to try an at LEAST tip the cook since that was the only good service we had gotten. She wouldn't allow me to tip the cook! The cashier was blantly rude infront of other customers that was coming in. Throwing our receipts an pen talking under her breath saying we been trouble since we got there. When ALL we asked for was a refill on the food that was empty! She did eventually take off the drink my partner asked them to take off bc we felt thats the LEAST they could do for the bad service. Besides he never hot a refill an although I had water I had to refill my own drink 3 times bc the server I guess thought we weren't gonna tip her anyways. But the way she took it off was as if we were asking for free food. An she stated shell pay for the drink as if paying for the drink was an issue. We just didn't want to pay for bad service an for a drink that never hot refilled an for the fact I had to refill my own drink 3 times after my server saw my cup empty an walked by it 3 times. It only bothered me when I saw her walk by the last time an look at me An my cup an go to the table in front of us an smile an ask if the man needed more water. That's when I knew there was a major issue. I've NEVER experienced anything like this. Literally it was like something youd watch on Facebook or world star but never think it could happen to you. I honestly feel like if they're gonna act that way why work in AMERICA an work in public service if you're not gonna give good service. Or any service? Although we were outraged at the poor service/rudeness/disrespect the food was ok for the price. That the ONLY reason they get a star. But id def look into Ichiban buffet on Gate City blvd before...
Read moreThis is my favorite Chinese Buffet I've been to so far, the restaurant admittedly doesn't look like much on the outside. It's one of the stores in the strip mall to the left of Wal-Mart with a red sign, but you wouldn't believe it once you go inside. It's huge and warmly-lit with a chandelier above the buffet and huge artwork on the walls. The staff look professional and provide quick and friendly service. They have a pretty large private seating area that probably sits up to 20-30 people (although I never see anyone in there out of the 5-7 times I've been in there) for anybody who's looking for a place to have a private party, meeting, etc. .................................................................................................................................................................................................. The buffet is HUGE and they keep everything out and ready in big portions most of the time. My favorite dishes include the General Tso's Chicken, The "Spicy Chicken", Fried Rice (vegetables in it), Sugar-Coated Buns, The Peppered Chicken, the Chicken/broccoli Dish, and Skewers. Believe it or not, you could bring someone that absolutely hates chinese food to this place and they would be re-adjusting their belt by the time they leave because there are so many dishes and desserts that are american like pizza, garlic chicken, garlic bread, chicken nuggets, pudding, and even ice cream which I didn't realize they had for a long time because it's kind of hidden behind the buffet. The one thing I would not recommend is the jello, when I tried it, the outside was hard and it had a weird texture like it had dried out. .................................................................................................................................................................................................. The prices for a buffet are very affordable, $5.50 for the lunch buffet on weekdays, $6.50 for the lunch buffet on Saturday, and $7.50 for a lunch buffet on Sundays, the reason being that there are more seafood dishes served (which I don't care for). I don't know what the dinner rates are exactly, although I know they're much higher, but you can...
Read moreI would give zero stars but you have to select at least one star which is absurd. Food is dry due to being on the steam line for hours and not being changed out. We had a party of 7 we ordered 6 regular buffets at 10.99 and one with all you can eat crab legs. There were 3 adults and 4 children. My sister who had the all you can eat crab legs got some from the buffet and came and sat down at the table with everyone else. Naturally the kids wanted to try it because that's what kids do. So my sister cracked a couple pieces open and let the kids try it. The waiter proceeded to come up to the table and very rudely stated she was charging us 45.99 per child that tried some crab legs. That is ridiculous. At no point in time was there a sign or notice to state this rule they had. The bill came up to 208.00 and some change when originally it should have been around 113.00. I told the lady about the bill and she stated since they tried it off her plate we have to pay for a separate buffet price for crab legs for each child. This is crazy. She refused to correct bill and was very unprofessional. Anyways I swiped my card left 0 tip and disputed the transaction with my bank. I would not...
