Jake's Diner — Restaurant in Greensboro

Went on Friday for fish Friday... 2-28-25.. When I walk in there is only 3 tables of customers.. And 3 waitresses.. But oddly enough none of the waitresses could even recognize that I walked in the door.. no one spoke to me or smiled... I told them I was there to get a fish order and it was ready quickly but they were not a lot of vegetables and only 2 hush puppies.. like really you can only put 2 in there .. give me a break... & only 1 tarter sauce... said it would cost one whole dollar for another small little plastic container of tartar sauce, give me a break $1..!😲😡 Like really you must be trying to close shop when you're treating people like this...!!!. I've been going up here ever since the doors were open eating breakfast lunch and dinner and as of a couple of years ago it now is a terrible place for service and prices.. The food is good but the servings are smaller and you don't get treated like a human..!!!. Today was the final straw I will not be going back... The sad thing is these companies do not care that they're losing quality customers.. !😡 I hate the society that we're now in..!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 SAD TIMES..!!!!!! And if you think this review is Harsh then... This is literally, "I've had enough" of the "now normal" way of treating...

My husband and I have ate there a few times and the first time we had a waitress who took my debit card and said I'll be right back, I had to go up to counter and get them to get her so we could leave, she said I'm sorry I got busy helping someone. We went back a couple of more times and the service was good because we had different waitresses. Today we went back with a friend and the one who took my debit card was our waitress today, she was slow, and she was supposed to bring 2 to go cups and the check, well we sit there waiting for like 10 to 15 minutes and she hadn't came back, so we went to the counter and ask for her, well she was in the kitchen talking to the kitchen staff, the girl up front who was so nice got her and I made a comment to the nice girl that if I came there again I would get her because the other one was slow. We left a tip on the table and we went outside and she came out and said I don't want your tip and called me the B word and said I was racist. Well there was another couple who were of a different race walking out at the same time and they couldn't believe what she said. So don't go to Jake's Diner on Gate City Boulevard. Need to know the lady that did it...

Good food but expensive. Came because online it showed affordable prices. Was the first time visiting on January 19th. Our waitress wasn't that attentive and got charged way extra than we should. Seem she was surprised us being married maybe due to us being interracial. She was the black lady with the permed hair. Had to flag her down to get eating utensils. 2 meals for the deal. One was flounder and mine crab cakes on a Friday. I didn't get the deal. We also ordered a small hot dog, bologna sandwich to go with a Reuben. My reuben was greasy. The hot dog for my hubby was alright but tiny. Husband asked for no tomatoes or mayonnaise on the bologna to go and still got it on his sandwich after telling the waitress how he wanted it.Total over $60. Got nasty slaw when I asked for okra though she brought it out later. Waitress claimed I got double fries instead but it wasn't. Husband love coleslaw but didn't eat it so it says alot about the slaw. She got tipped though she never filled our glasses up but brought to go teas. Probably won't be back. Could of had a steak dinner for the price we paid. Next time will pay attention to the receipt. You...
