HEADS UP GREENSBORO -POOR SANITATION, KITCHEN NIGHTMARES MATERIAL! (and bonus* spiteful, unprofessional employees).
There are filthy walls covered in dust and dirt or grime visible in food and smoothie prep areas, filthy sink drains, filthy shelves where ingredients, utensils, and other restaurant supplies are stored. It's the kind of grime that has accumulated through months to years of neglect. I can only imagine what in the name of God their cold storage looks like. The sanitation score for this location is a 90, which is among the lowest I've seen from multiple restaurants since delivering DoorDash orders. I have worked intimately in the restaurant service field as a server, kitchen manager, and cook. To get a score of 90 on the sanitation grade you have to be completely mindless about the rules for upkeep and proper food handling and you also probably lack an employee on staff without ServSafe food and beverage safety certification.
I cannot in good conscience let people consume this dirty food. I will be warning every customer that orders from DoorDash. I admit, I was compelled to deliver orders from here for the money. I do not want the money from these poor patrons any more. I feel compelled to warn them of the sanitary conditions and then un-assign myself from the orders at the expense of hurting my Dasher ratings. It's worth it to me.
*Bonus: The female cashier working on Super Bowl Sunday was extremely unprofessional and problematic the several times our paths crossed today. The last time I visited the store this evening she greeted me by staring at a blender pitcher with something stuck inside it like she wanted it to die. I stood there for over a minute just watching in disbelief. Then she finally looked up and I smiled, and said "Hello again" and then she mumbled something I couldn't understand and looked very disappointed at life. She either hates her job, hates my race, or both -- her attitude and bias was very apparent this evening. Following that awkward and unprofessional reception a patron or a vagrant (difficult to be certain) walked into the store and she immediately acknowledged and welcomed him with a warm greeting, eye contact, it was like they knew each other. The man then walked past me and towards the restrooms. The cook on duty, seemingly puzzled by what he could see, alerted the cashier that he believes a male patron just walked into the girl's bathroom. The female cashier then ran away from the smoothie counter and screamed "Oh my GAWD! IS HE USING THE GIRLS BATHROOM!?!?!?" She ran out of sight towards the bathrooms and then I heard loud banging noises and her screaming "Are you in there!"
I promptly left. As I walked out the door I told another patron sitting in the dining area that this place is effed up. I urge everyone in Greensboro to beware.

Read moreSo I love Tropical Smoothie Café. It is one of my favorite places to dine. But this location is ran by many unprofessional young adults. They were cursing very loudly and yelling at each other. I purchased a Jerk Chicken wrap and the wrap was very small with mainly rice in it. This is the only time I have ever been given a wrap that was almost half the size of a normal wrap. The price was almost $8 and the size should not be smaller. The workers were all very distracted because some had a few of their friends up there while they were working that were talking to them about personal issues.
This location is very unprofessional ALL THE TIME. I should have taken a picture of the wrap, but I debated with myself whether to leave a review or not. I was just going to not come to that location anymore, but I thought better of it and thought that it should be known that this location, aside from being unprofessional, was not serving the full size wrap.
(Side note: the time before this one, I ordered a wrap and a smoothie, which is technically a combo. The associate told me they don't do a special with the wrap and a full size smoothie. At first I said okay, then I looked over at the menu and saw where it said "Add a smoothie for $4.49" so then when I went to pick up my smoothie, she gave me my wrap and a very small, child-size smoothie. "I'm supposed to get the full size one."
"Oh you want a full size one?"
"I want the one that comes with the combo on the menu up there." And it was only then she gave me the full smoothie.)
I would not go to this location. It is near the UNCG campus so there are college kids there, which is fine, but there is very little professionalism. No other Tropical Smoothie Café that I have visited has had such an unprofessional atmosphere.

I ordered two acai bowls I go to pick my bowls I checked the bag and the bowls are missing half its ingredients.The response I got was well the bananas are green and we don't have the other stuff. Looking around at the nasty interior of the restaurant and the demeanor of the employees I asked for a refund. I was told by an employee she could not do that she has no manager and they are short staffed. Do we not see the many problems with this statement. I did not receive my product or my money back. While trying to conduct business I had to continue to ask her what was being said we where yelling at each other over the music. The music was entirely too loud this is a place of business not a club and I should not have to shout over music to be heard. I have tried to remain a customer here but you all don't care anything about customer experience. Just give me my money back and count on me no longer being a customer.
Update they always send this generic message below to email them I have on numerous occasions and they never respond to their contact email/app. The level of disregard you hold for your paying customers is ridiculous, disrespectful and down right disgusting and you all should be ashamed.
Further Update: I have spoken with corporate twice and they make a report and state someone will call/email me back. No one ever answers phone at store level and 5 complaints registered online it's been 3 weeks. No product No refund I have no choice but to alert the NCHD who ever owns this franchise these doors need to be closed this is the nastiest, most disrespectful, unprofessional location...
