We've been here three times now and every trip has been amazing.
I'll start with the food. First time we went I played it safe and tried the lasagna. It was some of the best lasagna I've ever had. It comes in this oval dish and is covered in baked cheese. It's incredible.
Second time was Chicken Marsala. It was very good, but I think the lasagna was better.
Third time was tonight. I had heard that they hand make their mozzarella sticks. Personally I think the frozen ones are delicious so how much better could they be when they're hand made? The difference is night and day!! Those cheese sticks are by far the best I've ever had. They will be ordered every time from now on. For my entrée it was time to really put them to the test. I'm an Alfredo junkie and am unfortunately disappointed in a lot of Alfredo sauces I get at restaurants. I did the build your own with the 12oz. portion of linguini with Alfredo sauce and topped with grilled shrimp and chicken. As soon as it was brought out to me I knew I was in for a treat. It was absolutely delicious, by far my best meal from there so far.
Let's get to the service. First time was a party of 7 and Bev took care of us. We were all a bunch of first timers and she handled all of our questions like a pro. She took very good care of us, drinks stayed full. She even managed to get the birthday boy a piece of cake without embarrassing him too much. Bev rocked.
Tonight was a young lady named Emmaline. From the moment she came to our table she was so friendly and just really made you feel like you were special. Her service was phenomenal some of the best I've had in a while. Refills were never mentioned, they just showed up. I always get nervous when my cup gets less than half full. Emmaline was on it with all 4 of us she automatically showed up with fresh diet cokes for my wife and I and a pitcher of sweet tea for our friends. Emmaline was a 10 no doubt.

Read moreThe Capri's Italian Restaurant has been a family favorite for us since my parents were dating in 1947 when my dad was stationed at Donaldson Air Force Base. My late husband loved the Stone Avenue location and Mama Capri's Lasagna was his favorite meal. This new incarnation of Capri's is located at Pelham Court, 115 Pelham Road Suite 1, Greenville S C. 29615. This is a casual dining family friendly place with lots of seating and does not require a reservation. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is very friendly & welcoming. Your orders are promptly taken and filled accurately. The food is freshly prepared and well cooked with quality ingredients. There is a walk up bar with cocktails beer & wine and coffee, tea, sodas & juice too. Menu items include many appetizers, salads, minestrone & creamy tomato basil soup. There are pizzas, Build your own Pasta options as well as Capri's Specialties, Charbroiled steaks, pork chops and marinated chicken breasts and Subs & Grinders, Shrimp, Flounder & Salmon. We enjoyed the Eggplant Napoleon & Breaded Mushrooms with ranch dressing for appetizers. For entrees we tried the Baked Manicotti and the Cajun Chicken Ravioli, with bread and butter and Antipasto salads. Everything was delicious. We got an order of the Capri's Lasagna to go for a family member st home and the Tiramisu for dessert later tonight. All in all everything was exactly what we wanted and we will...
Read moreMy family has known the Capri family many years. The original restaurant was where my parents became friends with them. I've eaten at several of the locations over the years. Having said that my recent experience at the Pelham rd location was not pleasant. First we were sat close to the kitchen which is fine except we were swating some type of flying bugs away most of the meal. We were killing them and more appeared. I don't know if the garbage cans inside have attracted them from outside and multiplied or what. That's really unsettling to deal with while eating. Second the Italian seasoning on the table has red pepper flake in it. Who does that? These two things shouldn't be combined for the table shaker. Some people don't like the pepper flake. Third the one thing I really wanted to taste the most was the signature Italian dressing for the salad but it was mostly vinegar with barely any oil or seasoning. Lastly the chicken marsala sauce was not well made and one of the chicken breasts did not taste like it was cooked enough so I left it on my plate. Our server was excellent just not the meal. Sorry for the long review but I wanted to explain clearly why it's not 5 stars. Please fix these issues especially the...
