Mi Cabana Mexican Restaurant #7 — Restaurant in Greenville

I’ve eaten from time to time at this location over the years. It was always a good food and service. My daughter picked this location for her 14th birthday dinner. It was a party of 8 in total. 4 teens, one 4 year old , myself , mother and step father. It took a moment for everyone to come in bc the kids wanted to take pics so the adults went ahead and ordered our food. Then about 10 min later the teens came in and ordered theirs. The food came it was decent as expected but that’s where the positive ended. We bought in cupcakes for my daughter and when we asked the waitress for some napkins she handed us 2 single napkins. My mom politely asked her for more and she bought a handful then dropped them on the table and made the remark as she walked off “just take them all” . When the tickets came it was split between the different parties and an extra item had been added to the incorrect ticket of one of the teens. The teens did not understand why there were 4 charges for 2 items. The waitress was obviously frustrated trying to explain it to the kids who were not being disrespectful to her by any means. As the adult I took control and asked her to speak to me as they are kids and don’t understand(their were items split as “shared” on multiple tickets ) She remarked she was over whelmed and stressed to my response that we were not trying to make her feel either and I was simply trying to figure out what each person needed to pay. It was a simple fix and we thought it was resolved. however the manager decided to come to my table and attempt to talk down to me and accuse me of mistreating his waitress. He proceeded to tell me I had a lot of kids and how overwhelming they were. We were the only black family in the restaurant, the children (4 teens and a 4 year old ) never got out of their seat, spoke politely and respectfully to the waitress. The kids weren’t over whelming they were just black! ,no one was rude and we had even offered the restaurant staff to get some of the cupcakes(store bought) we bought in. We weren’t loud or obnoxious in any form. we had zero issue with anyone. Still made sure to tip and clean our tables even after how poorly we were treated . My daughter will have this as the memory of her 14th birthday. People have bad moments and bad days which is ok but to have a bad moment and then try to blame paying customers bc you spoke to a table of 14 year olds rudely after being rude to a elderly woman is crazy! these people ruined my daughters night. She was so embarrassed by how they were treated and started apologizing to everyone for picking this location. I wouldn’t encourage any one who isn’t white or Latino to come into this place it’s beyond obvious about how they feel toward...

The waiter didn't greet us with a friendly attitude or even smile. The waiter got our food orders wrong. My husband ordered a steak burrito and asked for no onions or bell peppers. He asked for beans and cheese inside the burrito. I requested the chiliquilas with egg. We both ordered refillable drinks. Orders arrived wrong. My husband's burrito had no cheese or beans on the inside. Also, his burrito had onions inside. The rice appeared as though it had been sitting for a while. My food was soggy...way too much sauce on it. It had chicken on it but no egg at all. The rice also seemed as though it had been sitting for a while. I decided to just deal with it. My husband told the waiter that his order was wrong and explained how it was supposed to be. When the waiter finally brought the burrito meal back...it still had onion inside and tons of onions. The inside had some sort of pasty looking bean smelling consistency, but didn't look like actual beans. Not much steak pieces either. Looked like my husband got the same rice that had been sitting dry on his plate from earlier. To top it off... drinks. The waiter filled up my husband's drink. The waiter asked if I wanted a refill and I said not yet. The waiter failed to ever check on me again to see if I wanted a refill. My husband didn't bother wasting time sending his food back a second time. We both just dealt with it all. Mind you this was our second visit after a wonderful first experience. This experience makes us regret...

A friend of mine took me here #mi_cabana for lunch. We sat outside but we were the only ones. Who would have thought that the Thursday before Memorial Day in North Carolina would be so cold! My friend originally made fun of me for wearing a sweatshirt but he went to his car to get a sweater. Anyway the outside seating area is a nice option. I got a huge chicken burrito (I forgot to take pics before I ate but I was hungry) but you can see that my leftovers are huge as you can see. It was good but I used to live in California and they have the best Mexican food. The service was good. Our server was friendly and quick. The inside is classic American Mexican restaurant decor. Pleasant, clean and predictable. I snapped a pic of the urinal because the ad over it is for an app. In my day it would tell you drink specials, bands and happy hours! Anyway excellent value.
