42 Fry Greenville — Restaurant in Greenville

42 Fry was given to me at work. Everybody was like go to 42 Fry if you want some fried fish or just seafood period. They talked about this place with so much excitement that I have no other choice but to try this place. I went online and placed an order for fried trout extra crispy, jumbo shrimps, boneless chicken, sweet potato pie. Everybody, everything was warm to the touch and very tasty. I mean, I do believe that they have the best seafood yet. Not salty at all. I enjoyed my food from this place and see the pictures I have taken after getting my food. All this food came to $45.00, and I was pleased, so it was worth this price to me. I will be ordering again in the future. Ordered Again, Date: 06/26/2021 Today I order again, and this time something was off like the trout tasting fishy or weird not fresh to me, it didn't taste like this the first time, and they forgot my sweet potato pie that I ordered. I really don't know what to say, is that this time the food was okay and not as good as the first time. I added more pictures from this last order. I visited your restaurant when it first opened up here in Greenville, NC. I ordered two catfish sandwiches and they were well worth the money. I told some of my friends about how good the food was and how you definitely got your money's worth. Now, fast forward to today. Today I ordered two catfish tacos and 10 catfish fillets. When I got home I was really disappointed. The catfish taco was a strip of catfish layed out on a tortilla and nothing else. No Pico de gallo (which was advertised as simply Pico) or nothing else. As far as presentation was concerned, It failed. My catfish fillets were even worse. The only thing I could taste when I bit into the fillet was the breading/coating on the fish. No fish taste at all. Please don't get me wrong. I am not trying to trash your business. Greenville needs what you are providing. I am only pointing out these things to make you aware of something that can hurt your business. As I said at the beginning, the food was great when you first opened up, but now it seems to be going downhill. If you really want to know what your restaurant is putting out get a couple of friends to go in undercover and make purchases and taste test for yourself. My colleague and I were just passing through and stumbled upon this gem. As soon as we opened the door, we were welcomed by the awesome cashier (Kelly I believe). The treatment of feeling appreciated that we chose to dine there didn't end with the greeting. She walked us through the menu options and even included the precise time it would take to receive our order after paying, it was exact. We were checked on during the meal by her as well as a nice gentleman name Mr. Monte who we later discovered was the owner.

The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and battered. You weren't overwhelmed by breading and still could taste that it was shrimp you were eating. My whiting was just simply amazing and don't get me started on my hush puppies.

Words can't describe the feeling I had after biting into my lemon bar. It's a good thing that I live 2.5 hours away, I don't think my waistline could survive. We have officially added 42 Fry as our new go to spot when we work in the area. Job well done on...
