Food Lion — Local services in Greenville

I shop here regularly, but this summer I am the Ameriprise Fellow for the Campus Kitchen at East Carolina University in the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement office. I teach nutrition lessons to the students of Operation Sunshine, Inc. every Friday. After speaking with Mr. Dennis and obtaining permission, we brought the girls here to view the produce area and to do a scavenger hunt to look for the produce needed to make their recipe that was assigned to them. Mr. Nathan is who greeted us and helped us as we did the scavenger hunt. He worked very well with the girls, and I am eternally grateful that we were able to collaborate together to give our girls the experience of shopping themselves. They had a great time, and learned about shopping for food and the different things you can do while shopping. I did a little late night shopping with my 8 yr old son. He loves this location because he can use the "customer in training" carts and use the self checkout to pretend he works at the store. When checking out I had some issues using my debit card. The extremely polite associate helping at self checkout referred me to a senior associate. Jukeim took me to another register and tried multiple times to get my card to work. He was extremely patient as I tried multiple cards, used the wrong pin numbers, and ended up having to take off several items. Employees are all super helpful and friendly!😊 They have both regular checkout lanes plus self checkout, and both always have someone at them to help, which I really appreciate. I generally use the self checkout & they have some for just cards as well as cash & cash back. The attendant is always there to help with any questions. The store is always clean, & I really like the extensive bakery. The produce dept has a good, fresh selection of fruit & veg.😋 I will say tho, that during the time when ECU is in session this Food Lion stays pretty busy, so the quietest time to go is in the morning before noon. Definitely recommend 👍💯
