No warm water or hot water in bathroom for over a month in the middle of winterđ€? Are you guys washing dishes with freezing cold water too?
Not sure why they wasted money on nice decor/chairs & tables. They clearly don't want you to stay n relax, which mimics their "no laptop" policy at the Greenwich Ave locations. Sad, that businesses have lost touch with the concept of "your neighborhood cafe/respite". It makes sense at the tiny locations on the Ave, with a bunch of foot traffic, but not here.
No wifi, and no plugs (looks like they paid extra to conceal all of them đ€Ș). I get it, u don't want people posting up all day hogging chairs, but it's OG, your not going to have that kind of traffic. The limited parking lot alone will restrict how many patrons come in to begin with.
STOP spraying the cleaner all over the place, especially right next to people eating/drinking, or change the scent/product. Nobody enjoys having their items "taste" like industrial cleaner. I would expect that at Dunkin, not here.
Baristas are nice. Food n drink are great, even though they did forget 1 of only 3 ingredients on my egg sandwich one day đ€Ș. I don't think this location has a real manager, or the owners are always absent. I have seen too many "hiccups". FYI, I managed many high end restaurants, so I may notice things the avg patron does not.
Last, can we get some real honey? That "extra light chefs quality", is not...
Read moreI'm there practically every morning and sometimes for lunch or an afternoon tea.
I enjoy the atmosphere, in particular the way they foster a more social-oriented environment as opposed to one where people sit hunched over a laptop or, worse, conduct conference calls or interviews while the rest of us just want to sit with a cup of coffee and the newspaper or a friend. (Speaking of friends, I met two of my best friends at a CFCF - one at Riverside, another on Grigg Street)
The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The place is kept clean and uncluttered. Vacated tables are wiped off almost immediately. For the most part, customers clear off their own tables, but even when they don't, it isn't long at all before a member of the staff comes by to remove cups and plates.
There is music, but I would say that it is unobtrusive. Certainly not loud, but not so quiet that I haven't noticed a particularly good song that I had to look up.
I have a light breakfast: coffee (medium roast) and either a croissant or a pastry (the apple turnovers are my favourite); my lunch time favourite is an egg salad sandwich on sourdough; when I'm there in the afternoons I enjoy a pot (yes, a pot) of earl grey tea and a...
Read moreI left feeling embarrassed and really unwelcome after my visit here.
I was sitting quietly by myself on a weekday afternoon with plenty of open seating, after ordering food and coffee and tipping well. About 45 minutes in, a staff member told me (in a very sharp tone) that laptops werenât allowed at all. It caught me off guard, and the way it was said made the situation uncomfortable not just for me, but also for nearby customers who noticed.
Later, I checked and saw that laptops are allowedâjust with a time limit when seating is limited. Since there was plenty of seating when I visited, I donât understand why I was singled out. That inconsistency and the delivery left me feeling unwanted.
A little more clarity on the policy, and a kinder approach when speaking with customers, would make a...
