DiMare Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Greenwich

I am literally so over this place. I just was in the store and the lady next to me ordered a cake she was picking up. The name was spelt wrong “Javier” instead of “Xavier” and the worker seemed annoyed about it. Whether it was a mix up or the costumers fault I believe they should just fix it without an attitude. The lady was making faces and so was the lady in the pink apron. You can see on their faces they looked annoyed (check the camera owner) - great costumer service!!! I bought a cake for $30.00 and asked them to write on it. I know Halloween is in two days but I didn’t know if I didn’t specify the color I would get ugly orange writing. I got a happy anniversary cake that was pretty and white not a Halloween cake. The writing is so ugly. Out of all the colors I don’t know why she had to pick bright orange. It looks terrible. I hated it but could based on the faces they made with the other lady and the fact that I didn’t specify the color I took the L. But like this place is rolling all the way down the hill. They messed up my family’s Christmas 2020 order but I never left a review. This pushed me over the edge. For Christmas we got the wrong kind of cookies and cheesecake. What a nightmare. I need to find a new bakery. Good luck...

I ordered my anniversary cake from here & it was ABSOLUTELY disgusting!!! It tasted like something that would be served at a nursing home. I requested for yellow cake with a raspberry filling with butter creme frosting and ended up receiving a sponge cake with barely any filling and large amounts of whipped creme. It was very disappointing to say the least because I drove 2 hours from Middletown to pick up the cake. My husband was very sad about it because he was so excited to enjoy it. He tasted it and said that it tasted OFF and I would have been better off ordering a cake from Carvels or Cold Stone Creamery. This is the SECOND year in a row this bakery has let us down and ruined an order. Last year we ordered our anniversary cake from the Hope Street location & the baker had to refund me and offered to make another cake. This bakery made our wedding cake 7 years ago and sent it to our wedding venue at the Greenwich Hyatt, the guests loved the cake but clearly this place has definitely went downhill since 2017🥺🥺🥺 this was one of the best bakeries in the area but it’s been nothing...

Had ordered a special 70th birthday cake--order was incorrect, and I had to wait for it to be redone--when I mentioned that it was already paid for and that the girl who had taken the order 2 weeks prior had said I would be able to get in and out, the owner told me that I was negative and had an ugly attitude in front of other customers and the help. Because of the quality of the cakes from DiMare, my daughter has actually come down from Montville to place orders. And, we always posted the beautiful cakes on FB.However, after over 10 years of ordering and shopping there, I am done. I was given a pound of cookies to make up for the wait, and probably for the nastiness, but.................definitely not first time, but this was the worst! Have a lot of witnesses and my phone!!!!! My review is based not on quality, but attitude...
