Too bad it doesn't have a place to where you can put no stars. Me and my husband drove all the way to Greenwood to eat. At the bob evans because the one in southport has turned into a joke. We ate there 2 weeks ago and it was actually pretty nice. Everything was good but today. Lord is my witness I will never step foot back in bob evans again. We walk in, they're all over there talking on their phones. Finally, 5,6 minutes later, someone came over and Took us to the table, right Then and there I Should have realized This wasn't gonna be good. 15 minutes later and I'm not kidding, a waitress Finally Came over and What we would like to drink. And I told her what we wanted to drink and I said we was ready to order. She said. Well, let me get your drinks first and then I'll come back for your order. I was like okay, fine. So it takes her 5 minutes to bring back our drinks. And then finally she asks us what will we like We gave her our orders, which was a bowl of biscuits and gravy with biscuits. 2 eggs over medium home fries And a piece of ham. That was my husband's. I had the same thing but I want it. Bacon and hash Browns instead. Half an hour later, she brings over 2 plates. Lord only no's what was on them. But it wasn't Our food and we was like this is not what we ordered. she ROLD her eyes and took the food back, came back 10 minutes later and said. Well, sorry, but they messed up your order and what. Would you like and we're like? Are you kidding me? What didn't write down our order? Because whatever they put on the table was nothing that we asked for. We both got up and left. What was we supposed to do? Set there another hour. So they could come back and tell me. Our food was messed up once again. I should have knew better because I already seen other people saying There's food was messed up. But I thought how easy is biscuits and gravy. Some eggs and hash Browns. How hard is that to mess up. well low and beho. It's real hard to mess up. I was like okay, you're was you not listening, to us When we told you our order repeated it twice and you still messed it up.and then she's like. WHAT REALLY are you SERIOUS and ROLE her eyes? I'm like. Yeah, I'm dead serious, are you serious? We've been here for almost an hour. And you didn't even come over with a manager saying Hey, we can take some off the bill. We're so sorry, nothing. It was like no big deal like we messed up or something instead of her. It's like, are you kidding me? We're the paying customer and you act like we did something wrong. No sweetheart, you did something wrong. Because obviously you have no clue what you're doing. We've been here, I know almost an hour and you didn't even come over with a manager saying Hey, we can take some off the bill. We're so sorry, nothing. Read moreThe 1st time we came here the place was super busy and our waitress was running around trying so hard to keep her customers happy. She informed everyone in her section a waiter was no call no show and a cook recently fired and the new cook was also a no call no show and the manager was trying to cook everyones orders as best as possible. The waitress at that time was amazing and she was so sweet, she had paid for our bill as a thank you for our patients and kind words to her. I wish I'd have got her name.
TODAY 4/15/19, We went to this same location in Hope's to find the previous waitress and the place had very few customers and again 1 cook and a manager cooking in the kitchen. We ordered our food and drinks. The 1 coffee I had drank did not get refilled until after 20 minutes. We sat for an hour waiting. Half of our order came, the pancakes were thin and hard. The hash browns burnt on 1 side and no where near cooked. The over easy eggs I had asked for were over hard. Bacon was hard as a rock and sausages cold. That's not including the country fried steak and over med. Eggs that had not even made it out, to which the current waitress informed and apologized she sent his whole order back because it was not correct, Again apologized.
We decided to leave. We offered to pay for our milk coffee and juice and the waitress said no need and the entire wait staff apologized to us and an elderly couple who was leaving as well.
This location either needs new management and cooks or to just get shut down. Complete disappointment two times. I feel so sorry for their wait staff.
I also want to note the manager today who was cooking was complaining to the waiters that the food was cooked. He did not want to cook or precook the orders and only have it served the way he cooked it. I personally called out that I'd teach him how to cook over easy eggs and not over hard! Read moreWe've gone to this location a handful of times and never been impressed but this last time takes the cake. We ordered breakfast for two. The gal who took our order was friendly and repeated everything correctly but that's where the good ends.
In the past we've had issues such as extremely small portions, hair in our food, wrong orders, or missing items. Today specifically, we had a curbside pickup order (because our infant son was in the car). The man who brought out our order was very crass and seemed extremely annoyed that we had a gift card. We used the gift card (of which we though we had enough to cover the price) but there was a balance remaining. He unfortunately had to walk ALL THE WAY back out to the car to collect the addition few cents remaining. He made it clear that this annoyed him just by his face and way he told us the amount. All we had was a larger bill, which apparently wasn't ideal for his day either since he took the money without saying anything and angrily marched back inside.
He came back out handed us our change, of which we didn't immediately count. We thanked him, with no reply other than a huff and an immediate walk off. As we were pulling out, we noticed, he'd helped himself to a near $5 tip on a $20ish order without asking us.
When we got home, we found that they failed to include syrup or butter for our pancakes, the portion of hashbrowns was about the equivalent of two teaspoons, and they failed to follow the one special request of crisping the hash browns. Otherwise, honestly, the food itself was okay.
We have always enjoyed Bob Evans food as a whole but for this location, not so much. The food has never been stellar and the service has typically been subpar. We're done...
