Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Greenwood

We're at Golden Corral in Greenwood, Indiana. While My husband was eating , I noticed a long black hair in his food, I said don't eat that, I pointed to it and told him I'll go get someone. I did. First manager ( He's in training) sees it and says oh no, I apologize, he takes the plate and says I'll be back, I want to see how I can fix this. I said no problem.

A while goes by ( maybe 30 mins ).....I asked a gentleman if he can get the manager so we can get an update. He says sure....and does. ( KEEP IN MIND) I've been nice and polite this whole time, my husband is just sitting across from me praying I am not going to act a fool...and I'm not.

Manager #2 comes out. I said hi, Im not sure if you were updated, but he had a very long piece of hair in his food, another Manager saw it and took the plate, just curious of an update because we are leaving soon.

He said, well, we can't say it was our hair, it could've fallen from someone's clothes. I took a deep breath. Calmly said, sir, it aint his, he's bald. It aint mine, and we are sitting in front of YALL cameras. It don't matter how it came in contact with his plate, it happened. Im not asking for a refund or nothing except for an update because your manager told us to hold tight while he rectified this. He says....Our employees wear a baseball hat or a net, so it's not ours. It could be another patron. I said sir, can I get the first manager please because you are not connecting with me. We are not blaming anyone, or even pointing fingers. It happened, it's not our hair, we were enjoying ourselves, food was good, however, Hair FROM SOMEONE OTHER THAN US was in food he was consuming, we shared it with a manager, he saw it, took the plate and said he will be back. Im just asking for an update.

He said ma'am, that hair could belong to anyone. I see this every day, this is what I do. I said sir let me ask you something If I sneeze in your face, and it's an accident, not on purpose, don't you atleast expect an apology from me, a wet wipe or something to clean your face? He says no, I will forgive you, because Im a marine. I look at my husband, and he just puts his head down and shakes it as if he is praying to God that I don't react to that. I said well, can you give me the original manager, or another manager that isn't a marine. Who will expect an apology and a wet wipe. He says yes and walks off. The original manager comes back, Im sorry ma'am, I was pulled in 3 different directions and I wasn't trying to make you wait long, Im a manager in training. I said first and foremost, Thank you for apologizing and not making me feel like Im trying to just get something from nothing. I understand you are new in your position. And I was just curious of the update. Thats all. The other manager wants to go around in circles while you had us under the impression that something was going to be done about this. He offers him 1 free buffet. Signs his name on the receipt and told me the General Manager is aware of this. I am sorry that hair was in his food, Im not sure how it got there and we try hard to avoid this kind of stuff. . I said I appreciate that, and I am sure you do and we didn't even expect that kind of resolution, we thought a discount for the disappointment but you fixed it more than expected, thank you for your professionalism in this matter. I said whoever trained you should train the other manager. He laughs it off . I wished him good luck on his new position and we left.

I understand that there's ppl out there who always want something out of nothing, we are not like that. It was gross, you don't know what ppl put in their hair, if they have lice, anything. He ate the food before he noticed it. I was always nice, never raised my voice, got loud or ghetto. Yet, this one particular manager wants me to feel bad for wanting a simple update.

I've done customer service for many years, a simple resolution is what people who are not on some ish is looking for. This could've went left all because...

I just wanted to add my two cents. I just checked Google Maps to see Drive times to the two Golden Corrals that are still open here in Indianapolis. It is going to take an extra 10 minutes to get to the Greenwood location, but this location is better than the 38th and High School Road, so we will be heading back tomorrow on Sunday. I saw a recent review complaining about price, and another one stating they lost weight and will never eat there again. It is a all you can eat buffet, so if you have self control issues and trying to lose weight it's probably not the place for you. LOL the complaint about price was surprising. It's basically 14 bucks for dinner. Lunch is less, as is the weekend breakfast. A McDonald's Quarter Pounder or Big Mac meal combo is $10 these days after tax. Any lower end sit-down restaurant will be minimum of $14. Applebee's, Chili's Etc. If you eat more than baby bird sized portion, you will absolutely get your money's worth, for eaters, you will get more than your money's worth. This particular location does a good job of keeping the serving stations fully stocked, and if they get picked through, they re-up. During busy times, if something is empty, the staff is helpful to bring out more if you ask, and they don't seem to have a bad attitude to do so. The wait staff generally speaking keeps your drinks filled as well even when the place is very busy. All in all I find this Golden Corral to be a decent place. No, you are not going to get bacon wrapped filet mignon like at St Elmo's, but you're also not going to spend $305 after tip and tax for a party of four( no alcohol) As a side tip, the mac and cheese is decent as is, but I like to head over to the broccoli and cauliflower to add a little extra...

Paid too much for nastiness and would rather eat off of an old stripper, than to eat there. The floors, tables, bathrooms, and buffet stations were so filthy and sticky, we almost left, but decided it wasn't gonna be worth the wait to try to get a refund. The food tasted okay - but not worth the price by a long shot. The inside smelled so damn bad, I needed a shower right after we left, just to get the stench off of me. 99% of the employees acted like they were the walking dead, with zero sense of urgency. 4 people including myself waited for about 10 minutes for regular ranch dressing after I found an employee to let them know it was completely out and when someone came to replace it, not only was it the LITE ranch dressing, which I found out only after taking a bite of the salad, but it still took him about another 5 minutes to go back and forth looking for what he needed, but again, with ZERO sense of urgency...many of the employees acted like they were on drugs or at the very least, heavily chemically induced. While I was waiting for our son's steak to be cooked, there was a young female, probably around 14 years old waiting for pizza for quite some time and when an employee came by to replace an item next to it, she sweetly asked him if they know when more pepperoni pizza will be coming out, to which he dryly replied, "No I don't" and walked away, so she finally gave up and left the station. I see a Chinese restaurant in the near future there...with the health board...
