The place itaelf isn't much to look at, but it was clean. We liked the food. I had goat briyini and my husband had a chicken dish. We also ordered tandorri naan. I would rate this place higher, but we had a few issues. 1) When we came in we didn't realize we were to seat ourselves. 2) Workers were sitting in the dining room on their phones. 3) We discovered rice is NOT included with the meal, it needs to be ordered separately. 4) The server(s) never really checked on us. We had to ask for a water refill. 5) We didn't know who brought the bill. Apparently, you pay at the front. 6) There are no drinks on the menu but there are some at a case by the door. 7) There were bones in my food which made it a kittle hard to eat around. It was still yummy, just awkward. Overall, we would eat the food again. Most likely in a take out situation. It's worth giving it a try.

We tracked down Mumbai Grill, in search of Indian food, on the very last day of our Road Trip. It's an Indian/Pakistani restaurant and without a doubt, their knack is Lamb delicacies. It was perfectly cooked, the gravy was spiced and had all the authentic flavors. Our order also consisted of Samosa Chaat, Dal Makhani and Garlic Naan. Samosa Chaat was a bit too dry but tasted good. Dal makhani was just ok, wasn't at all creamy. The Garlic naan was super soft and delicious. Their staff is friendly and the restaurant wasn't too busy either. Ample parking space including accessible parking. #RoadTrip5 #SmokeyMt

I’ve tried a couple restaurants serving Indian cuisine here in Indy. My go-to for most flavorful spot would be Mumbai Grill. The owner is friendly, respectful and often recommends items that might appeal to you with a big smile. The inside of the restaurant, you will find a corner where meat is available for purchase from the butcher. Most people may find the open and plain interior not very welcoming but I think this is room for improvement. All in all, my favorite place to snag Indian food to go! Chicken korma is my best pick from this spot!

This is the best Indian food in the world, and you need to try it.

I’ve pondered leaving this 5-star review for about a year now because I was worried about too many people finding this hidden gem. However, I have finally decided that this place is simply too delicious to keep to myself any longer.

I have tried at least 10 different Indian restaurants in the Indianapolis area, and if you are looking for a cute, gentrified Indian restaurant with sub-par cuisine, this is NOT the place for you. However, if you want to eat some authentic, flavorful, DELICIOUS Indian food, you have found the best (to my knowledge) around. There’s nothing flashy about Mumbai Grill visually, but their food speaks for itself.

So yeah, give it a try if you’re looking for something amazing that will change your life forever. (But don’t go too much, I don’t want to wait in a line to get to my Butter...

I have enjoyed indian and pakistani home cooked food for years, and this used to be as close as it gets. I have many friends in these both communities, thus I was invited to traditional family dinners many times, so I can appeciate good quality, traditional indian food. However, past few years, and I've been ordered food from here at least 10 years now, something changed in this place, with portions getting smaller and quality... well, let's just say, lacking! We ordered goat paya, that was essentially a goat bones container, filled with sauce. No meat whatsoever! I have been dissapointed a few months ago, and thought it was an unfortunate occurance, so I decided to give it a second chance. But I will never go again here! I will try some of the newer places that just opened in town, even if will not be as conveniently placed to our house. I guess it is true: nothing good...
