Well, butter my biscuits and call me a road-tripper! Alright folks, gather 'round, your old man's got a tale to tell, a real culinary quest, if you will! The family truckster, and my stomach, were both running on fumes the other day, so we decided to make a pit stop at this much-talked-about place called Guacamole Mexican Restaurant right here in good ol' Greer, SC. And let me tell you, it wasn't just a pit stop; it was more like winning the Indy 500 of fantastic flavor! Holy guacamole, indeed, this place is the real deal! From the moment we parked the dad-mobile and walked in, I had a good filling. The place was brighter than my future son-in-law's prospects (just kidding, son, mostly!), and the aroma? Oh boy, it was enough to make a grown dad weep tears of pure, unadulterated taco joy. It seriously smelled like victory, with a delightful hint of fresh cilantro. It was absolutely scentsational! Now, let's taco 'bout the main event: the glorious food! We, of course, had to start with their namesake – the guacamole. And folks, it was absolutely guac-tastic! Smooth, zesty, with just the right friendly kick. It wasn’t just good; it was avo-control good! My daughter tried to hog it all, but I wisely told her, "Sharing is caring, especially when it's this dip-licious!" For the main course, I dove headfirst into some sizzling fajitas. They arrived hotter than a jalapeño's temper on a scorching summer afternoon, and the sizzle was pure music to my ears – a real wrapsody in beef! Every single bite was a fiesta in my mouth. This wasn't just food; this was premium, high-octane dad fuel, the kind that keeps the jokes flowing! It had bean a long time since I've had Mexican food that was this satisfying. It was nacho average meal, I tell ya! It really meats all expectations. The service? Faster than my hairline receding (and a whole lot more pleasant, you betcha!). Our server was on the ball, really salsa-d their way into our good graces with charm. They made sure our chip basket, much like my bottomless repertoire of dad jokes, was never empty. They were truly grate! And because I know you're all wondering about the critically important stuff, as a true convenience store connoisseur would, I meticulously checked out the restrooms. Let me just say, they were cleaner than my car after a surprise visit from the grand-kids (which, believe me, is saying something significant!). No señor smudges to be found anywhere! They were immacu-loco! So, if you're ever in Greer and looking for a place that will fill your tank and genuinely tickle your tastebuds, Guacamole Mexican Restaurant is the absolute chip-shot! Don't just taco my word for it, go guac and roll on over there. You absolutely won't be disappointed. It’s a spec-taco-lar choice, guaranteed! This place truly siestas the day, folks! You can...
Read moreI normally would not leave a negative review. However, I was very disappointed on last week here. I have been a very loyal customer and really have enjoyed the food. However, last week, I ordered the Tequitos De Camaron as normal. This dish is like a small wrap with shrimp, cheese, and pico de gallo along with the dipping sauce. This comes in four pieces and very tasty. I took the first bite of my food, and I immediately realized the texture was very different, hard and extremely crunchy, normally soft. . By the time I got to the second piece, I noticed the same thing. I asked the waiter who is cooking back there today? She seemed puzzled because I asked her about the cook. I then begin to unwrap the second piece to find that there was a shrimp tail inside of my wrap.I set it aside and begin to think is that what I just ate in my first piece. I am now on my third piece no issue, but I am kinda mad now that the shrimp tail was inside of this wrap, not visible for me to remove it. I stop eating ask the young lady for my bill. I want to pay full price before complaining, because I was not in search of anything for FREE. After I paid, I begin to speak to the young lady about what I found in my wrap. I had one of the shrimp tails on my plate to show her. She told me that another customer had complained about the same thing earlier. She told me that the manager/owner advised them to leave the tails on the shrimp. I am really pissed now and thinking, he need to put him some shrimp tails in a bowl and eat them. He needs to see how they will digest in his body. I could not even believe a person serving food to the public would direct the staff to do such thing! I could see if they did it to a salad where the guest could see it to remove it but in a wrap (NOT VISIBLE)! I was totally pissed and vowed NOT to step another foot back in here. I dare not spend my money where a business knowingly serve their customers shrimp with the tails still on them to eat in food that they can not see them. This is where DHEC should come and pull your rating, the NERVE of this BUSINESS OWNER to think like this is good for the digestive system and his customers. Hopefully, he feeds his family shrimp tails for dinner daily. I WILL NOT COME BACK NOR RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO NOBODY! Signed LOST...
Read moreI went on a Saturday late night to order takeout. I went into the bar area, ordered a drink and said I was doing takeout. Bartender called a petit young girl away from the register to take my order. She was not friendly at all. It seems I took her away from her texting her friends. I finished my drink and wanted another. I tried getting her attention but she was busy running her coworkers shoulders. I wound up going to the bar and ordering my drink. Little girl came to the table saying my food was ready. I went to the bar to lay my tab. Bartender said to lay it up front. I went to lay for my food, handed the little girl my card and tab. She said I had to pay "them", pointing to the bartenders. Looked for my food and she said it was still in the back. Frustrated at her snotty comments and lack of interest in serving me, I went back to bar to lay them and waited at the register for my food. Little girl never looked me in the eye nor said a word to me, just kept texting on her phone. Needless to say, I will not be back again. There was no management around and the staff was ridiculous. It was not a very busy night, especially when little girl had time to text in front of customers, and the bar staff had no clue who pays what where. I did not leave the girl a tip at all. I did not deserve to be treated like this whatsoever. Management needs to step up training, or be retrained themselves. I loved this place and have been there many many times without incident. I will not go there any more. And I'd advise everyone who gets take out food... Open the bags and make sure you get all you ordered. I paid for, but didn't get a large cheese dip. I was so angry when I left there I didn't look myself. Very poor...
