Nice new location, but insanely expensive for what I got. I usually frequent the SSII in Spartanburg and my usual (#19 combo w/chips and a large drink) is $13.28, but at this location, the same combo was $16.92. That’s crazy, especially considering the skimpy amount of meat and cheese on it. For $3.64 more, it should (at the very least) be comparable to what I usually get. My pickle had a strange taste (like plastic). I thought it was just me until by brother took a bite and made a face. He’s a big boy - 350 lbs and eats just about anything, but he didn’t eat that and said it tasted weird to him too. SSII is my favorite sub shop and I frequent the Spartanburg location often. I went to the Greer location because Spartanburg closes at 4pm on Saturdays and I was craving it, but I unfortunately won’t be making a special trip back here. I get that the new building creates more overhead cost, but to charge quite a bit more while simultaneously skimping on ingredients is not doing the owner(s) any favors. It gets two stars since it was open when my usual location wasn’t. Edited to add: The girl who added the toppings/rung me up was not very friendly, and she was having a personal conversation on her cell phone when she rung my order up. The lady who was slicing the meat was super sweet though!

2 stars because staff was nice. As far as the sub sandwich goes they don't put much cheese or meat on it. The meat was cut so thin you could see the light from the other side. They only give you two very thin slices of the meat and two very thin slices of cheese on the sandwich. I remember back in the day sub station 2 would load your sandwich with meat and cheese. The sub also was just slapped together with no love. I guess they made up with the oil, vinegar and Mayo because it was all over the table when I unwrapped the sandwich. I ended up having to put it on a plate. I also had my order Togo and they didn't give me any napkins. I'll say the place was nice and clean but I don't think I'll be coming back. You can give them a try and be the judge.

I absolutely love substation ….. well I use to. Last night when I got home and was ready to eat my sandwich I noticed a piece of hair sticking out of it.. opened It completely to make sure my eyes wasn’t deceiving me, only to see a long strand of hair on my sub. Instantly went in the trash , wasted $13. I had to end up eating a frozen dinner when all day long i was looking forward to going to substation for dinner.… so disappointed. I will say that the staff was nice and helped me quickly.. all of that goes out the window though when you can’t eat the food you paid for because it has a strand of hair in it.

Updated 7/12/2023 They must be nearing first place in my list of sub shops. I go there all the time now. My #1 place is asking me where I have been??? I felt awkward telling them, I've been going to SSII! Meatball sub is a killer loaded (I mean overflowing) with sliced meatballs and tasty sauce...AND they are careful when they make it so it does not soak through the roll while you eat it! Man who does that? New location is brand new and looks great. Very clean. Staff was very attentive. Took Attraction Book coupons for a BOGO. Nice bread options. If you eat there a lot ask for the frequent buyer card. Before you know it they will give you a free FULL SIZED sub. And for Sarah my daughter-yes they do have a toaster...
