I went to this Starbucks today. Walked in extremely happy and excited about getting me a new Starbucks cup, and then having my drink made for this cup as well only to find disappointment when I reach the person standing at the front counter. I asked the guy at the counter about me purchasing the cup and having my drink made for the cup. He told me that it would be fine for me to purchase the cup, but he didn’t have time to wash it and clean it so that my drink could be made in the cup he told me that I’d have to take it home to wash it and then come back or I could go to another location where they may have time to wash the cup. There was no one else standing in line at this time. There were two people sitting at the table, enjoying their beverages and I was the only person there waiting to be served no backed up line in the drive-through or anything my only purpose for going inside was to purchase the blue Starbucks cup with the double lid because it’s my favorite color And I haven’t been able to find it at any of the previous locations I have been to. But at that time, I was speechless and searching my mind for words to say that would not come off as abrupt or rude to this man and then anger came over me and I decided to walk out. but before walking away, I did explain to him that I just recently had purchased two other cups at separate locations and they had no problem with washing the cup and filling them with my drink, so I didn’t understand why it would be a problem for him to do so as he was just standing there washing his hands in the same sink he could have used to wash my cup. He then proceeded to tell me that if another location allowed me to purchase a Starbucks cup, and then wash it there for me that they are not supposed to be doing so and that they are going to get in trouble for it because I’m supposed to buy my cup and take it home and wash it myself. But… the cup I wanted To purchase had what look like a stain or markings on it so he did take the cup and wet a paper towel to try to remove the stain from the cup, so why couldn’t he just wash the cup as well? Make that make sense. Now I don’t know what Starbucks policy is for selling cups to be used for beverages that they sell at the time of purchase, but it was the choice of words and tone this man used with me that didn’t sit well with me and I don’t want to play that card, but I do feel like playing that card at this point because it’s how it made me feel. I will never return to this Starbucks location ever again although it is the closest one to where I live. I will drive another 15 to 20 minutes to a different location where I am treated fairly and like a customer, a person , a human being. Or maybe I’ll just cut out going to Starbucks altogether and find a new place...
Read moreAlright, buckle up, buttercups, because "Its Dad Reviews" is taking on the big leagues – or should I say, the big beans – at Starbucks on West Wade Hampton in Greenville, South Carolina! And let me tell you, this place is brewed to perfection! First off, finding a parking spot was no latte task, but once I espresso-ly squeezed my minivan in, it was smooth sailing. Stepping inside, the aroma hit me like a ton of bricks… coffee bricks, that is! It was so good, I almost fell-a-brew-ary in love with the place right then and there. The baristas? Absolute grounds-keepers of good cheer! They were so friendly, I thought I'd bean here before! I ordered my usual, a tall… no, a grande… wait, a venti… oh, you know, my regular. And let me tell you, they whipped it up so fast, I didn't even have time to tell my favorite joke about a coffee filter: "It has a great job, but it has a lot of drip!" (Get it? Drip?!) The coffee itself? Oh, it was a true brew-tiful masterpiece. Each sip was like a warm hug from the inside. It was so strong, I felt like I could conquer the world, or at least my honey-do list! No bitterness, just pure, unadulterated java joy. I even overheard someone say, "This coffee is perk-fect!" and I couldn't agree more. The atmosphere was buzzing like a caffeinated bee. People were working, chatting, and just generally mug-ging for the camera (okay, maybe just enjoying their drinks). It's a great spot to get some work done, or just chill-ax after a long day of… well, being a dad. So, if you're ever in Greenville, South Carolina, and you're feeling a little depresso without your espresso, do yourself a favor and pop on over to this Starbucks. You won't be disap-pointed! Trust me, it's the cream of the crop! I give it a solid five out of five stars, because anything less would be an un-bean-lievable injustice! Keep up the...
Read moreStaff here is wonderful but you can tell they all know it's managed poorly because their default tone is almost apologetic at all times - rarely have pastries asked for been available, or even the second choice & at 9am no less, and occasionally I get the "we don't have any pastries today."
At one point hey had started closing the drive thru early because, and I'm quoting here, "not a lot of people go through the drive-thru after 6"...(that one didn't last long; can't imagine why).
The ONLY reason this place gets any stars at all is for the staff because they are all genuinely kind people who have the misfortune of having to do their best with what they have, and what they have is truly terrible leadership and management.
If any managers read this (which I doubt based on my experiences so far) understand that I don't review places much unless it's a truly great or truly poor experience, and I gave this place so many more chances than it deserves because of the good staff you're lucky to have, but at this point even they can't keep me coming back; I will absolutely be going to the E North Street location from now on, and have already begun recommending others do the same, and that is totally on your poor management.
P.S. Even with the fancy new drive thru kiosk, average wait time in drive-thru is...
