This was our first time in the coffee shop. They have a fantastic selection of food and drinks. I was recommended a mango habañero kombucha. It was great. The entire layout of the place is very welcoming. I'm pretty sure it has an association with the church that it is connected to but does not push religion onto its customers. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing I had an issue with is their food product. The pastries are made very well and are very tasty. This buisness takes part in a great program where instead of throwing away unwanted food products, they discount it so they can avoid food waste. The bag of food we were given looked great on the outside. Most of the pastries were still great. They tasted very fresh. However, one had started to grow fungus inside the pastry. It is difficult to tell from the outside, so I can understand how it wasn't caught before being given to us. The pastry had an apple filling, and that's where I believe the problem was. For the food waste program, I would just recommend watching the pastries with fruit inside them. Besides that, fantastic place for our...
Read moreIf you’re a serious matcha fan, this is not your place. Unless you prefer them to be mostly milk? There was zero flavor. The blackberry foam was delicious though! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches. One was called The Problem which was excellent, the other was just the basic breakfast sandwich on an English muffin which was nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the wait. Between the line and the time it took for us to get our food/drinks, we waited almost an hour for everything to be finished. The line was painful -unsure what was going on but we didn’t move for a solid 15 minutes. The line took almost 30 minutes and there weren’t that many people ahead of us. Looked like there were only two people working and for a busy Saturday morning, just doesn’t feel like adequate staffing. Maybe someone had called out. But I’ve never been to a coffee shop with that long of a wait for such...
Read moreWhile it says that it is wheelchair accessible, the double doors on one side and the steps on the other side made it impossible for me to get the attention of patrons and staff inside even with waving my arms and knocking on the glass doors. My money as a disabled person is as good as anybody else's, and I shouldn't have to yell to get into an ostensibly wheelchair accessible establishment to be a customer. I recommend a bell or door opener, then maybe one day other folks n myself can try one of the chocolate croissants people who can walk enjoy. Otherwise, don't claim to be wheelchair...
