My fiancé and I came here for our annual “Chinese Food on New Years Day” tradition. We were expecting a standard, Chinese-American meal like usual but no, we were BLOWN AWAY by how great the meal was. The menu is surprisingly large and varied, there were so many things that we wanted to try. We ended up ordering the Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Eggplant Pot, Bok Choy, Mongolian Been and Wonton Soup. Everything was so flavorful, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the quality of the ingredients were very high. This was an exceptional meal. The owners were there working, it was a very friendly mother and son duo. I spoke with the mother and she was so sweet and helpful. We chatted with the son and he was very cool, you can tell how much thought he put into the meals. He was very passionate about the food and it was inspiring to see. We cannot wait to be back and to bring our friends. It’s well worth the trek from New Orleans, I highly recommend a visit to Hawaii City.

Don’t let the outside and inside decor fool you… this place is a hidden gem! Although the decorum is very plain, everything was still clean and the service was very nice. We ordered the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings ($13.99) & the Mongolian Beef ($18.00). The Mongolian Beef was good and tender, but the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings were the main highlight. The portions were huge and the crispiness of the wings were perfect. I’d give this restaurant another try. Like I said earlier, don’t let the outside of the restaurant cloud your judgement. Definitely a “hole in a wall” but in a good way!

My 2nd time here. They recently opened but you will not know about it unless you drive pass. No social media presence so trying to spread the word on Google. My favorite are the salt n pepper wings. My husband got the salt n pepper pork chops and he enjoyed it too. You must give it try. Support this local business so I can continue to get my wings when I’m craving.

This review is long overdue, but after my third amazing catering experience with Hawaii City, I had to finally give this gem its flowers.

I’ve used them for three separate catering orders, and every time, the service and quality have been absolutely top-tier. Today, I had a last-minute request to feed a room full of second graders—chicken wings and fried rice—and the owner didn’t even blink. He answered the phone with the same warmth and respect he always does and found a way to make it happen.

When you walk in, you’re greeted like family. He even helped me carry everything to my car, which is such a rare and appreciated touch. And let’s talk about the food: it’s always fresh, flavorful, and consistent. My son’s classmates tore through those wings and rice like it was their last meal.

If you’re craving Chinese food or need to place a large order or cater an event, I strongly recommend Hawaii City. Support this kind, hardworking local business—you...

I recently found out about Hawaii City and it’s one of my new favorite restaurant on the WB.

I went with my family and we enjoyed everything! The food was great and Kevin, the owner was very personable, friendly, and talkative in a good way.

We had the Salt and Pepper wings, shrimp, and green beans, shrimp and pork fried rice (separate items), and the spring rolls. The food was delicious and the wings are memorable. I woke up the next day with those wings on my mind. All food is made when you order so it's super fresh.

Also, the lemonade is made to order and the ices tea is sweetened to your taste. What a great touch!

If you haven't tried this place, please run to taste...
