This was the most horrible experience I've ever had. For starters, the young lady at the front on register taking orders, and answering the phone had no knowledge of the menu and was EXTREMELY rude to not only us, but customers on the phone. We told her this was our first time there, but she failed to tell us that this was a self-serve restaurant. And if that wasn't bad enough, the bartender, Demond was worse than her. We asked if we could sit in the comfy booth area. He said no, this area is closed (which we later found out was not true; he just said that so h could clean it to help him leave asap). Since it was only 9 p.m. and they didn't close until 10, I was a little shocked. As we approached the bar to have our drinks made, he talked to us with his back to us as he cleaned and swept the floor. The drink we ordered was horrible. He continued to sweep, brought trash out from behind the counter, and set it next to our table. When he brought our food out, we were missing the calamari. When asked about it, he replied with "well, did you order calamari and were you charged for it" nastily, as he headed back toward the kitchen. When he returned with the calamari, we said of course we did or we wouldn't have asked for it. In addition to the horrible customer service, the dozen and a half oysters we ordered had shells in them making them crunchy as if chewing on a rock or glass. Demond came to our table in passing to ask if we needed anything else, but walked off before we could answer. Demond was more concerned with cleaning than anything. He was very rude and definitely should not be working anywhere near or in any restaurant in the customer service industry. There were only 3 of us, but we ordered a lot of food (about $120 worth to be exact) to get the full experience since we're not from this area. Needless to say, we WILL NOT be returning to this place on...

My husband and I came here at 3 p.m. for a late lunch/early dinner. We've been here several times. The food is consistently decent at an affordable price. It's casual with a concept of counter service merged with table service. You grab a menu upon entering, quickly decide what you want, order at the register (don't forget to order beverages!), pay, you're given your cups with ice and a plastic card with a number to place in the metal ring on whatever table you choose and get your own beverages. There is a self-self toppings area for sandwiches and a soft-serve ice cream machine that ALWAYS works (McDonald's maybe you should find out their secret!).

Their is at least one server per dining room checking on seated customers to see if they need anything. Your food is delivered to you when it's ready & doesn't take long at all. Their garlic fries are yummy! I honestly cannot recall my family or friends ever receiving food that we didn't like there. You leave a tip on the table for the server who brought your food & checked on you throughout your meal.

I would have rated this a 5 stars except for the fact that for the actual trip that I'm reviewing, aside from a kitchen runner bringing us our food, we were not visited by a server at all during the course of our meal. We got our own refills for drinks, which the server normally does. My husband went to the cashier to request a To-Go box for...

We were staying in Harvey, LA for a few days. On Saturday evening we stopped at the restaurant on Manhattan Drive. The sign on the door said they were open until 10:30. We arrived at 9:45. I asked when we got there if they were indeed open until 10:30 and it was confirmed. We ordered a catfish and oyster combo and a fried shrimp platter, which were awesome. The bad part of my review comes from some of the workers. We had a good waiter but a couple waitresses let it be known by their actions that they were not happy we had the nerve to show up 45 minutes before they closed. When I went to get our drinks after we ordered I couldn't get anything to come out of the machine. I finally turned to her and asked if they were out of diet Coke and without saying anything she just comes over and turns on the beverage machine. Never apologized for it being off or said anything and by then there was still 40 minutes before closing. The whole time we were there they were sweeping all around us and doing other cleaning. We were made to feel very unwelcome and made to feel like we inconvenienced them. By 10:20 we had eaten our food and left, with still 10 minutes to go before they were supposed to close but the front door was locked when we got ready to leave and had to have it unlocked so we could get out. Very unfriendly place to eat but...

We always know we will get great service and good food at great prices! Since their reopening, we have been dining in the bar area, so we have the pleasure of being taken care of by Demond. We started with the mozzarella sticks. If you don't know about these, you need to, because they are unlike anywhere else and are EACH the size of an egg roll (see picture.) Demond suggested several drinks for us, which did not disappoint. My husband got the Big Che-asy burger and I got the BBQ shrimp one-handed poboy with the best onion rings anywhere. Both were pretty good, but if I'm being honest, I would probably order the shrimpzilla next time. We look forward to returning with friends!

Once we got sat, service was pretty quick. Our server was attentive which was great. The food...eh. I got the gumbo to start, the BBQ shrimp poboy and onion rings. While the onion rings was amazing, the gumbo and the sandwich was eh. Gumbo didnt have much flavor and BBQ shrimp had too much bread for the shrimp you get. You get a lot though. My party also had the Catfish Lafeitte and they said the sauce was too cheesy and didn't have a kick as expected. New Orleans has a lot of great food but I wouldn't really come back to this place. There's a Copelands that is close and I recommend you spend your money there.

Normally excellent food and service but not tonight. Got their oysters for just over $21 and they came burnt. This was a take out order and we could smell that something was burnt. Thought it was probably the bread. But when we got home found out that they had burned the most expensive thing on their menu. We called and talked to the manager. She said some one new was working the grill. Sounded like she could care less, especially since we were home. The oysters were so over cooked that the shells were cracking and sticking to the oysters. No juice or butter to soak up the bread with.
