Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Gretna

I must start out by saying I had not been at this location since they had closed the local Winn Dixie. They opened a new AlAldi'and this Popeyes has also gotten a new face-lift. Thus is my observation... Walked in to remodeled store with new order kiosks. Some took only credit/mobile payments, so you better be a bit aware of your choices... I placed my order, wishing for the days of a nice banter with a friendly human and realizing that all people may be replaced with A.I. / Robots faster than we think. I went to check in with my receipt and met the only redeeming asset at that moment, my cashier. SHE was a happy & engaging young woman who cheerfully inspecting receipt, gave me a drink cup and explained that my food was forthcoming and that they would call out my name when it was complete. She pointed me in the direction of the beverages and told me where the lids & straws were. After a bit I heard my name called. I went up to the counter, identified myself and a gentleman handed me my bag. Deciding to put my drink it in the bag, I noticed only one of my sides was in there. I asked him if he put the other side in the box with the 4 pieces of chicken? He said no and and asked me what I had ordered. I showed him my receipt, and verbally, recited the order again. Inspecting it he turned to the back heating units and pulled a small container of dirty rice off the tray , putting it in the bag. So much for kiosk accuracy 🙄... The size of the two sides are greatly reduced for the price of a 4pc meal and the quality of the chicken breast was below average. It may be awhile before...

I really like the chicken sandwich, and the chicken was big and juicy. Don’t go to this location if you’re Caucasian… I came to this Popeyes today to simply pick up a delivery order with my girlfriend. They were pretty busy so I knew we had to be patient. My partner ran to the restroom and asked me to grab the order so we could save some time. The manager was overwhelmed but was rude as hell. Kept telling everyone “All pickup orders had to wait”. 20 minutes passed and I didn’t even get acknowledged. Okay cool. She knew I was waiting on a pick up order because I’m sure she saw my phone. I was patient asf UNTIL she acknowledged everyone but me… asking what the names for everyone’s order… except mine. She kept looking at me but not once said a word to me. And even ignored me when I spoke to her. I was most definitely the only white person in the room. I thought I might’ve been overthinking it. Until another Caucasian gentleman walked in for a pickup order and she was incredibly rude to him telling him “all pickups have to wait!” Pretty much screaming at him. Meanwhile she was kind to everyone… delivery drivers, regular customers and staff….. as long as their skin contained melanin they got good treatment. I will never come back to this location. Thank god we’re moving this weekend so I can continue to enjoy Popeyes. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at...
