Le cafe eblouir — Restaurant in Louisiana

I'm not sure what the name means, nor do I have the motivation to learn, but this spot was GOOOODDDDDD. Randomly stumbled upon it while looking for a spot to work in Belle Chasse and I'm EXTREMELY glad that I did. The staff was incredibly chill, but diligent and responsive (Rare combination considering the pressures of service industry/work in general).

It's easy to tell when food is infused with care and soul and I got that in spades. The person helping me patiently listened to my complicated order, gave constructive reccomendations AND made one of the fluffiest and BEAUTIFUL cups of coffee I've ever seen in 10+ years of being a coffee drinker. I also took a chance on a savory pastry, which is usually mid in coffee shops (due to little fault of their own, capitalist logics etc etc), but the ham and cheese croissant was SOOOOO soft and flake and perfectly seasoned.

This place is fire and not sure if I'll ever be back but along with Chicken's Kitchen is definitely/clearly a diamond on...

Eblouir is one of a select few places on the Westbank to get craft espresso and baked goods that are handmade in house. Coffee beans are outsourced to a local roaster. Located in a former Subway sandwich franchise, Le Cafe Eblouir is a microcosm of the nationwide shift to finely crafted. Even the table is quite the piece of well crafted furniture.

Pastry Chef Hyemin Eblouir routinely surprises and delights with her knowledge and wisdom refined after many years working in New Orleans hospitality where average cuisine dies by the roadside getting run over by new trends or excellent faire. Her pastries rival the excellence of Hi-Do bakery while also challenging them with a step up in presentation. Maybe the only other bakeries that compete on the same level are Dong Phuong in the East or Angelo Brocato in mid city. West Bank residents no longer need travel 30 minutes to get their fix of finely crafted...

When you read/hear the name of this bakery, you think you’ll walk into a dazzled out place because the translation of eblouir is dazzle…but you’ll be welcomed by mostly bare walls and nothing out of the extraordinary seating.

But the goodies this place has to offer make up for the minimalist atmosphere. I tried the mini fruit tarts and strawberry cream croissants. The fruit tarts have to be one of the best ones I have ever eaten, but I’ll pass on the strawberry cream croissants. Was too dry and didn’t really have that wow factor like the fruit tarts did.

They have a pretty extensive menu which includes pastries, drinks, and brunch items so I definitely have to return to try other stuff! The employee who helped me was also very friendly!! I heard the bingsu is worth it so may have to...
