My first visit to Lil'bits Cafe. Reviews indicated it was mostly good, so, thought I would try it. On a quest to find the perfect biscuit. This ain't it. They taste OK, but they split them and grill them (shudder) before serving with jam(!). Highly offensive to this girl raised on true fluffy southern biscuits. The gravy is just about right. Not too salty, smooth, and not too thin or thick. My over-medium eggs were just a little underdone. Better that than too done with that yukky crispy edge I've had at other breakfast places. Eggs were not hot when served. Link sausage was OK. I will try their house-made sausage patty next time. Bacon was interesting. Three large slices, nicely seasoned. A bit underdone, though. Their menu offers all-you-can-eat home fried potatoes. I tried them, just so-so. Was not offered more, so I guess you have to ask. Will try hash browns next time. Pancakes were a complete miss. These large cakes looked tasty, but didn't deliver. Tough and tasteless. Would benefit from adding vanilla extract, nutmeg, sugar, and perhaps a little malt. Note to the cook: over mixing the batter makes for tough pancakes. The place was nearly empty when I arrived at 7:30am and by the time I left, the parking lot was full and the all the counter seats were taken. Many customers appeared to be regulars. Servers were very efficient and friendly. A few tables in front room lots of tables in back room. Parking lot is small and is shared with other businesses. I could be mistaken, but, the women's restroom does not appear to accommodate wheel chair access. Door is too narrow. All in all, good enough to warrant a...
Read moreThis was my second and last visit to this restaurant, and while the food was enjoyable, the service was absolutely disgraceful. From the moment we walked in, the hostess had a sour attitude that set the tone for a disappointing experience. It took an unacceptable amount of time to receive drinks, and even longer for refills. By the time we finally got our third refill, they decided to take our food order, something that should’ve happened long before.
While the food was well-prepared, the waitstaff’s attitudes were unprofessional, frustrated, and dismissive. They were more concerned with retreating inside than actually providing decent service, which made the entire experience uncomfortable.
The worst part, however, came after I paid the bill. I chose not to leave a tip due to the subpar service and left a polite note encouraging them to improve their attitudes. What happened next was beyond shocking. A waitress had the audacity to come outside and confront me about not tipping. Never in my life have I experienced something so unprofessional. She interrupted me as I calmly tried to explain my reasons, and her tone was accusatory and combative, blaming me for "hurting her" by not tipping.
This behavior is completely unacceptable. No customer should ever be chased down and harassed over a tip. If this is how this restaurant operates, it’s only a matter of time before it loses business for good. I hope management takes immediate action to address this toxic environment, because no amount of good food can make up for such shockingly poor...
Read moreOn June 4th 9ish am whoever the manager was on duty was our server. Felt she was rude from the beginning. Took our order for drinks I told her we are ready to order and ignored us. Maybe I wasn't clear that we were ready to order food. My 11 year old was hungry. We got coffee and hot cocoa immediately. Asked about Vanilla creamer since we didn't have any on our table. Put our order in took plates to another table, came back ringed up another customer. We were just sitting waiting for the creamer. My husband finally got up to ask for it but he could sense the mistreatment from the beginning and got the creamers from her not happy. She followed to the table. I told her she was rude from the beginning. She said I was rude to the hostess which I don't think I was. I asked the hostess on our way out if I was rude she said I wasn't. We didn't stay to eat. We found Huckleberry amazing service very friendly and customers are diverse. Maybe we were treated poorly being the only Mexicans in the restaurant. The manager who happened to be our server would not give us her name, I wonder why!
Update So profesional owner to 86 us. Instead of apologizing and no worries why would we ever return. Let your manager know to have better customer service and to be profesional. We wouldn't have walked out without paying for the coffee I didn't drink and sorry my daughter sipped the hot cocoa definitely did not feel welcomed. No worries I happily had breakfast at Huckleberry. Your manager should...
