Debated on posting but what the heck. Why not. IMO, Pros: -Cats are 1000/10. Love the cats and the effort to provide them with a fun, engaging environment given the small space. -Variety of toys available to play with the cats. -Restrooms available on site. -Socks provided since itâs a shoes off area. -A handy dandy lint roller to use. -Hand sanitizer available. -Local items sold in store and online. -Online experience easy to navigate. -Appears that the adoption process is hassle free. -Locals are excited and will support because, cats. We love cats. (We love all critters but cats take the cake here, lol) -Saw a shelf with some board games and books but was not clear if itâs for decor purposes or for patrons to use. IMO, Cons: -I was expecting a cafe. Instead, you yourself will push a button on a coffee machine dispenser into a disposable paper cup. Itâs like a workplace break room corner area. Like a hospital waiting room that has a coffee maker machine with some coffee creamer singles and sugar packets. There were flavor syrups that have a picture of a cat with punny cat names. There is a small selection of some baked goods, some snacks, some beverages. Perhaps itâs this way because of rules and regulations of the city. Honestly it was a bit of a letdown and probably wonât order coffee next time; personally it just wasnât worth it for me and I actually felt disappointed. -Would be nice if there was floor seating in the cat visiting area instead of the tables. It can get cramped since itâs a tight space. -Could use a selfie wall to promote business. -Parking a bit tight but lots of street parking. -Social media posts feature way too many posts of the same person; if you have the word cats in the business name, respectfully, please bombard with cats and not of yourself. I remember the kickstarter and how someone gave $1 so they can leave a message with some good advice. They had so many good points, and I hope you can revisit the suggestions because they were actually very helpful to you and your business. They said what I lacked courage to say, truthfully. -Honestly, wouldnât mind having longer time frame than just 50mins. ($18 13+ for 50mins, $15 children 2-12 for 50mins and $13 25mins express visit)
All in all, I will be back because, cats, and because the other cafes are a...
Read moreI agree with many other posters here. It is a great cause, the kitties are great, and the staff is lovely.
However... as others have said, it is self-serve coffee. As someone who only likes iced coffee, this was a let down for me. I got a canned coffee from their fridge, and it was unfortunately less than good. I still drank it though because I paid almost $5 for it. I think the disconnect is in the name and their marketing. Calling it the caffeinated cat cafe makes it sound like a true coffee shop.
I think its odd how expensive it is to spend less than an hour with the cats, which is something you can do at a shelter for free. Granted, I understand this is vastly different than a shelter and way cuter and more personal, but for my boyfriend and I, it was over $40 for a canned coffee and for us to spend less than an hour here. I am not upset because I know it goes to a good cause, but I think that if they are going to charge that much, they should at least make the coffee and pastries complimentary, even if they limit it to one per customer.
All in all, I enjoyed my time with the cats, but unless I am seriously looking to adopt, I do not think I will be returning simply because I don't really have a reason to for the price. But I do highly recommend it for anyone seriously looking to adopt that...
Read moreRecently, I learned about an upsetting incident involving a young woman who is on the Spectrum and who was wrongly accused at The Caffeinated Cat, for stealing a cookie! Note: she is also a diabetic! As a fellow long-time business owner in town, I know how important it is to treat every customer with dignity and respect. The young lady involved has always shown kindness and sincerity, and I can assure you she would never have any intention to harm or steal. Even after paying $18each for both her and her friend to enter this Go Fund Me funded business. The Owner accused her in display of other guests and evicted her from the property and threatened to call the police!!!! Shocking behavior to anyone who was trying to support the business with great excitement. Itâs essential for businesses to create an environment where everyone feels safe and valued. This did not happen in this case! Additionally, in California, the Disabled Persons Act protects individuals with disabilities from discrimination. This law is vital in ensuring equal treatment for everyone, and I hope that all businesses uphold these principles. Note: I tried to reach out to Owner to resolve this but was ignored, thus...
