KILLER steak and cheese subs!

Check the neighborhood Facebook group and you’ll see this place has been a Chinese carryout since at least the 1970s if not earlier. No idea how many times it’s been sold to new owners, but the current owners do a legit steak & cheese hoagie (lettuce, tomato, mayo), a staple of bulletproof carryouts all over the DC/MD region. I got the large ($12) and could not finish it, so two $6 steak & cheeses with A LOT of meat is a great deal. This is actual shredded ribeye, not the processed Steak Ums trash other places peddle. So, this is tough because I can tell they are trying hard, but this is the second time buying carry-out here, and once again, it was just okay. The Combination Fried Rice was pretty bland, the Curry Beef was supposed to be spicy hot and wasn't, the Bar-B-Que Ribs, although fairly meaty, were tough and chewy and had hardly any Bar-B-Que sauce. Lastly, the Sweet and Sour Chicken was also pretty flavorless. It's unfortunate because I can tell the Counter Lady and the Crew in back were working hard. The Egg Rolls were pretty good but that's about all I can say was good and that's not good considering the entire take-out order was over $50. Probably won't be back. Best decision I made today was reconnecting to Chinese food again thanks to Eastern!! Not only are the deals and service amazing but the quality and taste of the food is phenomenal not to mention the quantity of the food is just mind blowing. I went for lunch and the first thing I noticed was how clean it was, I mean spick and span. As I walked up to pick up my food I was greeted with such kindness.
