I recently visited China Wok in Grovetown, GA, and unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing. The quality of the food was far below acceptable standards, and I am truly regretful for spending $28 at this establishment. The dishes we ordered, included orange chicken with vegetable noodles and sesame chicken with noodles for my son and they were simply inedible. The chicken on both plates was excessively tough, making it impossible to chew, while the noodles tasted burnt and the vegetables appeared dried out.
Despite the unfavorable main dishes, I must acknowledge that the eggroll and spring roll were satisfactory. However, this alone could not salvage the overall poor dining experience.
Furthermore, the service was not up to par. I placed my order over the phone, and despite being told it would be ready in 15 minutes, upon arriving 20 to 30 minutes later, I discovered that my order had not even been started until I arrived.
As a first-time patron of China Wok, I am deeply disappointed and have no intention of returning. For those seeking quality Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend China Garden on Wrightsboro Rd. I have frequently eaten at that establishment numerous times and have never been disappointed.
In conclusion, I would show pictures but that food immediately went in the trash, a waste of 28 dollar. if I could give negative stars for China Wok, I would. My overall satisfaction with the experience was...
Read moreWe've ordered from China Wok ever since they opened - it was fantastic NY style then, just as it is now. I've worked at several Chinese restaurants in the area and can say that this restaurant is one of the cleanest and best run, hands down. Because chefs at all of the area restaurants tend to rotate out every few years in order to return to China to visit family there may be some variance in the way the food may taste but at this restaurant they've been really great at keeping things consistent. Their food is always excellent and there's plenty of it, so keep that in mind when ordering. If you want traditional Chinese wings let them know when you're ordering - they used to ask, but they haven't been for a year or two. If you don't ask you'll get wings that aren't traditionally flavored. I've noticed that their dishes marked as spicy are not extremely spicy, but they will spice them up if you request it. Want your General Tso's or Szechuan dishes with plenty of heat? Ask and ye shall receive! I can almost guarantee that negative comments about this shop are about the place across the street - but we won't talk about them. That said, I really miss their Lemon Chicken. It dropped off the menu several years back. It would be great to see them...
Read moreLocal reviewer. Locals know this is one of the consistently best takeout Chinese restaurants in the area. My family has been eating at this takeout restaurant for over 5-6 years. Food is always excellent (delicious)! Great specials! Very clean restaurant. Great service! Very generous portions! They also sell chicken wings in individual servings or medium or large group sized portions in differing flavors. We have had many things on their menu (lo mein, spareribs, chicken stix, eggs rolls, wonton soup, fried rice, chicken or beef and broccoli, and lots more things). Yum! We highly recommend them! I included pictures of one of the combo specials which includes a large egg roll, boneless spare ribs portion, and fried rice. I also included a photo of a pork lo mein and chicken sticks combo which also includes a large egg roll. When you are seeing these pictures there was actually more of a portion than you're seeing, my family couldn't...
