The chips, salsa, and queso were a 5. The margaritas are strong but they use a mix instead of fresh squeezed lime juice. It is strong and rimmed with tajin, so I give it a solid 4. The lunch special was okay, but the price was outstanding. The standout was the guacamole salad. It had a nice jalapeño kick there just wasn’t enough of it. If I could sub more guacamole for beans, I would. The chile relleno was good except for the ranchero sauce. That is just because I am not a fan of ranchero sauce in general but it was still tasty and the breading was not too eggy. They use real poblano peppers. Where can you get an entree for under $7 and it not come from a drive thru? The service was good. Attentive but not intrusive.

This place reminds me of a place at 5 Points in Corpus Christi I used to frequent in the 90s only the food is better here. Authentic, family ran vibe. Not fancy at all but if you want some quick eats in a sit down restaurant at a very reasonable price for lunch, this is the place. Friendly and fast service bumps it up to a 5 even though I would normally rate this place a 3.5 to a 4. The vibe, price, service, chips, 3 salsas, and guacamole...

If you are looking for a "Papusa" or "Baleada"...not your spot. I asked if they MAKE their papusas on the spot (I found a Georgia trend of Papuerias beign pretty lazy when it comes to MAKING papusas)

The papusas we ordered...you can tell they were "premade". When you order a TRUE papusa, with what ever your ingredients are, they are normally on the inside....not ontop. I was hoping for a real papusa, but was eagerly disappointed. These are NOT how they are made in El Salvador :(

For the Baleada, the bean was not the small red bean required (or even the black bean)...instead some Mexican style refried beans from a can...splattered on a good size tortilla that is hand made BUT they want to fry it???? Ask any Catracho, you don't fry Baleadas. The cheese was not the correct one, you have to use Dry cheese "FROM" Honduras or at least El Salvador...reason I'm posting this is that you CAN buy this cheese several stores down from the Latino Store...just saying. I give the grade of D in effort here.

Now for the service, it was AMAZING, the waiter was very attentive, best one in town! Main reason not to give this...

green sauce and corn tortilla chips were great no complaints there. However when I ordered guacamole, it was not prepared correctly. The chef diced avocados into large chunks and mixed with pico de Gallo. After telling my waitress about the guacamole being prepared wrong, she apologized and brought us another one. They ended up just adding more chunks of avocado. I ended up mashing the avocado my self which was an inconvenience. I ordered steak enchiladas with green sauce that came with refried beans rice and shredded lettuce on the side. The cut of steak was horrible prepared and was more like crumbling pieces instead of strips of steak. The refried beans had barely any cheese on them and they were served Luke warm. Rice was flavorless. The green sauce was spicy and delicious though. Waitresses were not attentive and we were left waiting to order our food after 20 min. Overall not happy with my experience here. Won’t come back. Food may be authentic but is not...

I have mixed feelings about giving Mi Rinconcito a review - the food is amazing but don’t want to have to battle crowds when I go there to eat. We’ve eaten at a number of other Mexican restraints in the area, but Mi Rinconcito is hands-down the best! Everything is super fresh! The selection of salsas for the chips is on point and they even make their tortillas fresh in-house. I usually get dishes with more vegetables and the vegetables are always fresh - lettuce is not wilted and there is certainly a taste difference as compared to some of the other places we’ve been. Highly recommend for best Mexican food in the area.

Texans and Californians, look no further. This place is the real deal. Soy de Houston y Austin and I would come here over some of the more popular restaurants back home. The salsa verde at Mi Rinconcito will make you question just what the hell you've been doing with your life. They got that spicey/tart ratio dialed. The micheladas are on point as well, not just tomato juice and beer like some people think. A real michelada. And they got Tecate. Some night soon I plan to give myself a real good reason to come in for menudo the next morning. Gracias, gracias, gracias Mi Rinconcito! Comida Mexicana para toda la vida!!

I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. I ordered a carne asada burrito expecting it to have the usual toppings (like rice, beans, salsa, or anything else inside), but it was literally just meat wrapped in a tortilla with sauce poured on top. When I brought it up, the staff wouldn’t exchange it or offer any solutions — instead, they just told me to “read the menu more carefully next time.” Honestly, there are way better Mexican spots around where you’ll get better food and better service. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
