Oh honey, if you’re ever wanderin’ through Gulfport with a hankerin’ for something warm, welcoming, and downright delightful, do yourself a favor and swing by Cat Island Coffee House. Nestled right along the coast, this charming little gem is part cozy coffee shop, part book lover’s dream—and all heart.
The moment you walk in, it feels like a hug from your favorite aunt. Soft chatter, the rich scent of espresso in the air, and books lining the shelves like old friends waiting to be picked up again. The folks here clearly take pride in every detail, from the food to the atmosphere to the kind smiles behind the counter.
Now let me tell y’all about that dirty chai—mercy, it was good. They work a little magic with a pinch of brown sugar, smoothing out that second shot of espresso so it’s rich without being too bold. It’s got that perfect balance of spice and sweet, like a southern belle with a little sass.
But the real star of my morning? That bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Lord have mercy. The croissant was light and flaky, like it whispered sweet nothings before it melted in your mouth. The bacon? Crispy and full of flavor. And that provolone cheese, melted just right over a perfectly cooked fried egg, pulled it all together like a gospel choir on a Sunday morning.

We placed our orders with a worker behind the counter, then we walked briefly through the bookstore area–on the way to our table! My friend can’t stop talking about the Cat Island Coffeehouse–theplace, personnel it the coffee. This Coffeehouse is already on my list, as the place to, go and enjoy times alone, or with my friends! Read moreI really enjoyed this coffee house experience! I went with my husband. He ordered a brisket biscuit and a southern vanilla latte with skim milk and I ordered an Italian ciabatta sandwich with a Mississippi mocha decaf with oat milk. Our orders both came out very good. My husband loved the brisket. I loved my mocha, it tasted so rich. I took a small sip of my husband’s vanilla latte and his was delicious. We were in a small hurry so we unfortunately didn’t have time to look around the bookstore, but I’ll 100% come back whenever we need to study or just want somewhere...
