I work within walking distance from this place and went there a few times to give it a try. My first experience was good. Bartender not sure his name just know D, was great! Attentive and sociable. I wanted to spend more with him and did.
The second time I went there was a girl bartender and she was ok. She joked around with the guys that worked there a lot saying they were married and all. She wasn't very attentive or friendly though. I was the only one at the bar so I think she wanted to put on the impression she cared while pushing me to buy more. I didn't want to spend more with her so I boxed my food up and was about to leave and my food fell on the floor. I told the bartender as she was walking past me to go to the kitchen. She didn't acknowledge I said anything or even attempted to pick it up. A young sweet girl, wish I knew her name, came by and said oh no! You spilled it on the floor. As she was picking it up she said would you like another one? I said yes please. So she got permission from the manager to get me another one.
Just to let you know I usually get a draft beer and an appetizer first to see how it's going to go. If it's not a good time that's all I get and I go. If it is a good time I sit for a meal and more drinks.
The third time was even worse. The bartender, guy, got me a drink and then ignored me until I was ready to order. Then brought me out a dozen of raw oysters that were black and see through. The guy bartender was gone a lot doing something but the girl was there and very attentive to the man sitting beside me. When I noticed the oyster I said something to her and she just ignored me as if I hadn't just spoke to her. While flirting with the man sitting next to me. I sat there for a while and the guy bartender came back. He was pushing me to order more. I told him about the oyster and he said would you like me to get you another one? Well, yes! So he brought me one back out. Still pushing me to order more. I didn't even finish me drink. I was having such a bad time that I just paid and left. I didn't want to spend more with that restaurant ever again and I have let everyone I talk to, and I talk to a lot of people since I Uber everywhere, know not to eat at this place and go into telling them how horrible of an experience I had 2 times in a row.
Mind you, I went in looking for D since I had such a good experience with him the first time.
All the others just want money and forget about the customer. They just want to take and not give. I just wanted a relaxing time with a few drinks and a nice meal. Plus good company. I did not get that with the last two visits. I would advise everyone not to go here if your looking for a good experience go somewhere else.
When they replay to your post they ask you to contact them but then doesn't reply when you email the email address...

Read moreCame here for the oysters, but ended up intrigued by the shrimp that came from the gulf right there beside us. Maybe we'll get the oysters next time because I hear they are the best you can find. This is located on a cute little street, close to the water, close to hotels, and down just a bit from a main shopping area. There's parking close to the building on two different streets. We arrived just before the dinner portions were served, so we had the option and went for lunch portions. Prices for lunch is reasonable, whereas the dinner prices are rather expensive (but you do get a larger sized portion).
I had the shrimp and grits with jalapeno hush puppies. My son had the pasta with shrimp and a side of okra. The okra was the BEST okra I've had. Fried perfectly, didn't taste of the grease it was fried in, tender okra on the inside of the breading. Lovely taste. I kept sneaking another bite when he wasn't looking. He loved his pasta and shrimp. Plenty of shrimp in the bowl, pasta sauce wasn't too rich and just the right amount covering tender noodles. My shrimp were cooked perfectly. Peeled, but with the tail on. Not too chewy, not tough, not shriveled. Perfect. The grits were cheesy, garlicy, and delicious. The sauce over the grits and shrimp was rich, but not too rich to enjoy it. I wanted another bite to make sure I really did just taste sauce that good. Another bite. Finished the whole plate!! I even went back to the tails I just pulled off to finish off any sauce there. The hush puppies were slightly spicy, but not too spicy to where I didn't eat all of them.
I like the New Orleans feeling of the inside of the restaurant. Iron railings. Brick walls. Jazzy photos. Wood floors. Very cozy environment. Staff was quick to acknowledge us when we walked in and quick to check on us at the table. Will definitely return if we ever visit this part of the...
