So, I enter the drive thru around 10:20, put my order in, hand my $ over and said let me pull up so I can get some pico...he said ok. I go inside the door around 10:27 and the salsa bar is already put up and she's moving the tea to the back. 30 minutes before closing? That's a 10 minute task. I asked where the pico was and she said they have to start taking it down at 1030. I replied it's just now 1030 and everything is already gone..I asked if I could grab some out, she said no. I asked if she could grab some for us, she said no..anyway, she was super rude, unaccommodating and I get upset that I just spent my last $20 on burritos I cannot have any pico to go with (it's the best part). I asked her again and argued the point it's literally just now 1030 and she did everything but tell me to shut up and walked off. Eye rolls and all. I'm not being rude but pico and salsa is the only thing that makes your food worth eating being there's no flavor (typical in the biz to serve all). I get up to the counter and she walks back and tells the guy to cancel my order - the manager walked up with pico cups - I said "it's literally 10:32" and he asked how many I wanted (we got SIX!) and he did it with zero issues, no attitude, no eye rolling, etc. That was great customer service. That is leadership and a proper example. I legitimately wanted to cancel the order due to no pico, absolutely. That's something you guys offer and is well received in the community - if we're able to put an order in until 11pm, you should offer everything you offer to go with it until 11pm. It's a 10 minute or less task to sticker, wrap and throw a stainless steel bucket in the refrigerator. I appreciate the management yet embarrassed as a consumer (often visiting) that I nearly had to beg for a simple condiment minutes before you close, and met with rudeness and snarky remarks. I get it's just pico, but, as a consumer it matters and how we're treated matters. Keep repeating this scenario and I assume your NOI isn't performing as well as it used to.

Also, the burritos are now half the size they used to be. That's perplexing.

Anyway... manager guy,...

I ordered the nachos without jalapenos the cheese it tasted like I was eating wet nachos with water I ordered a diet doctor pepper not water I don't blame them for the drink but the food could have been better the guy at the counter was alright I mean I did come at 7 so i understand if you might be tired after a long shift but there is NO. Excuse for the food I stole some of my sister's food as well the beans had all the seasoning at the top of them at the top along with stale cheese I am sure they have other good things on the menu I might not be comeing back here but the whole restaurant still looks like a subway last time I checked they didn't have the best Mexican food so dose this place I have had some sorry Mexican food but this this was bad it tasted like dirty air with a little bit of taco seasoning on it never eating Mexican there again even if it closes and opens as a new Mexican restaurant it's so bad I am so serious please save your stomach don't go there haveing taco bell is better than this I threw up shortly after writing the first half this is so bad pretty sure I was POISONED it's so bad please...

I have been dining at and on this food since I graduated HighSchool and even before! Ha! - In 1985. It is one of the oldest family owned and operated local restaurants with a very quick drive thru that has made it through all economic and hurricane crisis that I have seen since I have been alive and growing up on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. With that said their food has always been super fresh, they employ young students, from the community who need jobs and work around their school and after school activities schedules. They make the most delicious mexican type food on the coast for not being a true mexican restaurant. This ain't your typical millennial's Taco Bell folks! no sir! I am proud to have them in our community and we LOVE the food, as it is always fresh and yummy. We have never had any major problems going there. It is a bit out of the way for people just visiting the Coast and staying at the beaches, but with the way cell phone GPS is today it would only take about 20 minutes straight up hwy 49 to get an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner for the family! Dine in...

Me and my family have lived on the Mississippi coast, our whole lives. Eating at taco Sombrero was like a weekly ritual! They make their own hot sauce, and the rest of the food is made fresh daily. I can promise that all of this is true when it comes to the quality of the food because I use to own a tomato company. And did business with the restaurant for close to 20 years I was able to see things that most people can’t or not allowed to see. It was one of the cleanest restaurants that I had as a customer and the quality of the food there was outstanding!never any shortcuts The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. I have not been asked, or paid to leave this review. The restaurant is a locally owned establishment unlike Taco Bell that is owned by Pepsi cola. If you ever go to taco Sombrero, you will forget how to spell the word Taco Bell! Give it a try and the hot sauce that they make in house is to die for. Jimmy McNeely

I have been coming here for over 2 decades and finally decided to do a google review. The food has been consistent in all that time, besides the occasional addition or subtraction on the menu. They serve their style of Mexican food pretty much anyway you would like it. They always serve healthy portions, compared to some other places, and the time from ordering to having what you ordered is always very short. They have an excellent 'dip bar' with sauces, onions, jalapenos, and other items. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, a drive thru, and a smile everytime I have ever been at this location. Recently, a couple of years, we have been blessed with another location in Biloxi and another to soon be opened in the St. Martin/Ocean Springs. They are locally owned and operated so go and give them a try. They would appreciate more business and I believe you will not be disappointed. ALL HAIL THE SOMBRERO.

Gulfport location is the original and by far the best. I wish the other locations would stop being so stingey with the chili sauce. No one beats taco sombreros chili sauce. Prices are slightly higher than taco bell but the meat quality is significantly higher. Fresh, in house, made daily hot sauce is still bomb though. Sigh ***UPDATE*** Unfortunately, this original location has followed suit on compromising the products due to food costs I assume. In the middle of the lunch rush I brought my kids to what used to be one of our fast food places. For $2 my daughter got a chilli cheese flavored tortilla that wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese. The chilli pies were all chips (again not hot enough to melt the cheese). I guess I'll wait for the economy to get better before I try to come back.
