My wife and I had been married for a week at this time, and she wanted to get her rings fused so they would not move while she worked or performed daily tasks.
The owner warned us about minimal plate damage on the bottom of the ring due to the extreme heat; since she said minimal and it was going to be under the ring instead of on top, we accepted it and left it with the owner for it to be fused and were told would be ready that following Friday (We dropped it off Tuesday). My wife came to pick up the ring after receiving a text message that it was ready eight days after giving the ring to them, with the amount to be paid in cash attached to the message. My wife’s ring is a silver ring plated with rose gold with a gemstone on top; the owner fused the ring but, in doing so, took away all the rose gold plating from the ring. The ring is silver all the way around, and no rose gold plating exists. This is not a regular ordinary ring; it is my wife’s wedding and engagement ring. I purposely bought this ring for the rose gold, and she loved it. Everything about the ring that made it extra special is gone. After my wife called me after picking it up and crying after seeing her ring ruined, the owner told her to pay for the service and tried to convince her that the ring was beautiful without it. I called the owner to understand what happened to the ring. Not only did I confirm my wife’s side of the story, but the owner told me, “Next time, don’t buy rose gold plated rings.”
Instead of calling to inform us that the heat took the rose gold off the stopping service from further damaging the ring, she removed the plating from the entire ring. When we had already stated upon drop off that minimal damage to the plating was OK, we cherished the color and decided to leave it. The owner told me I could get it repaired from a place in Mobile, but they could not due to the lack of chemicals. The owner didn't do that service and was still determining who else could fix it. After hearing this from the owner, I asked for my money back for the service since it ruined the ring, and they responded with, “That’s not gonna happen, buddy.” The owner even said, “If you don’t like it, you can come back tomorrow. I can separate them and give them back,” so I told them I was going to write about this, and they permitted me to tell everyone about my experience by saying “Yes that's fine go ahead.” So here are some photos at the bottom so you can see what happened to the ring.
We have looked at multiple places and called those who can get the rose gold put back, but it seems the only option is to spend three times the amount the ring is worth...

Read moreEighteen years ago I brought Alexa a small diamond to make into an engagement ring. I had an idea and she made it into a gorgeous reality. Now, my husband gave me a ring that belonged to his mother, who died recently. Alexa took the (bigger) diamond and made it into what I envisioned and it is absolutely stunning. Even my husband said so! Alexa works with what you give her, helps guide you (if needed be) and produces results that are exquisite and perfect. She is professional, her prices are reasonable, and she is kind. I am very happy with Alexa's work, and I certainly recommend her to anyone who needs her type...
