Just got hired on at Zaxby's, only been working there for 3 days now. Then the general manger Jessica calls me to say, I don't think your going to work out as a zaxby's team member. Those 3 days I was working there I wasn't late not once, I did everything that was asked of me. She had suppose to been training me and another guy in the kitchen. Every morning we would go in there we would get on the computer to do our test on the computer teaching us about the different aspects in the kitchen. Then when it's time to train us ahead would immediately stick us on dishes, which it wasn't a problem because it's a job and your do as your told at any job. So yesterday at work ahead was only training the other guy and she stuck me on dishes, and I didn't complain nor mouth off to her I did as I was told and washed every dish that was in the dish room then she proceeds to say can you do a trash run and I say yes ma'am that's not a problem. We was training from 10am to 2pm so at 1:37pm she proceeds to say well my labor is high which she was saying that everyday while we where training so she ask if I wanted to go home early so I say well i don't want you to get into any trouble with your labor being high so yes I'll go early. From the time we would come in we should've been training in the kitchen on what we was supposed to be learning instead of sticking us somewhere that we know what to do with the dishes. So my feelings are very hurt behind losing a job that I wanted. So when she called to proceed to tell me I wasn't a great fit for the job, I politely asked her can you move me somewhere that you think I would be fit in. Which when she hired me she wanted me to be a cashier but I wanted to be in the kitchen. I feel like what she did wasn't right because she didn't have probable cause to fire me because I hadn't done anything wrong and I feel like it's some racist situations going on at Zaxby's in Gulfport, MS and she doesn't need her job as general manager if she's going to treat people any kind of way. Then I understand if we was there 2 to 3 weeks and still hadn't caught on to what we needed to do but it was only 3 days and I feel like it wasn't right the way ahead handle the situation. When I would come in the morning I would put my phone away in my locker until my designated time to get off I didn't do anything wrong to lose my job and I...
Read moreMust say I've heard ppl talk about zaxbys before but I don't think we have one here in Louisiana... Or at least not anymore.
Very iconic restaurant. The interior is very nice as is the decorum (pictured)
I was blown away by the simplicity but deliciousness of the loaded fries (unfortunately seems to be a limited menu item).
There was a deal for first time dining and using the app u get a free big zax snax so I DLed the app and redeemed that offer. Pretty nice so I could have done that just to eat.
The BZS wasn't as good as the loaded fries but I used that to sample multiple sauces. I Was impressed the zaxbys goes the extra mile to ensures sanitary environment. Bag of food and drink all had security seals... That might seem minor but it'll give u peace of mind a door dasher or someone else hasn't been skimming your food. Alot of places don't do that.
The peach tea is really good unfortunately it must be kept in the back bc the Tea container in the store is only sweet and nowhere near as good.
I think it's fair to say this is a direct competitor to canes. However canes is by FAR much worse with pricing and offerings. The teas better, more variety of sauces (whiles canes sauce is more versatile id say zaxs are better), the chicken actually has flavor besides sauce dipping, there's actual rewards and the app has a purpose. Canes only wins on the toast... Zaxs little bit of toast can go.
Id happily trade the lot of canes in the area for 1-2 Zaxbys in my area. Definitely...
Read moreThe restaurant opens at 10:30am. I arrived a few minutes early and waited in my vehicle. At 10:30 I enter the building and see no one inside. I go to the counter and wait, until I see a cook in the kitchen. He said to other employees that someone was there. A woman comes from the back carrying a box of what looked like condiment packets and placed the box on the counter. Instead of greeting me, she simply asked, "what can I get ya". I ordered and while waiting for my change, which took some time while the woman opened rolls of coins, I looked next to the register and saw a photo of the manager which happened to be who took my order. She gave me my cup and change. I wanted sweet tea for my drink but all three of the tea containers were empty and sitting on the counter. I received my food and at least it was hot and fresh. While nothing really upset me about my visit to this Zaxbys, I was disappointed with the lack of prepartion at opening. The employees should be ready to serve at opening. If not, don't...
