Casa Jimenez Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hacienda Heights

My wife and I went there today 04/15 2018. This was a regular stop before they changed management and the food was excellent and the wait staff attentive and friendly.

It was Sunday in the early afternoon approximately 1:30 or so, past the morning rush. We were greeted by 3 teenagers who caught us as we proceeded toward the dining area, it took a few seconds to realize that the kid with the backwards hat and the girls talking on their cell phones were the greeters and seaters!

The chips arrived cold, not even room temperature and of course tasted bad. Our food order was taken timely and delivered piping hot. Unfortunately that is the best thing I can say about the food.

The Chimichanga was passable, but the rice tasted as if someone had dropped cigarette ashes in it. The refried d beans were like soup and my beef enchiladas tasted like they used leftover meat from earlier in the week. I should have brought my own powdered spices from home to infuse taste into the meal!

Sadly, one of our favorites restaurants is one we will never set foot into again. The Del Taco on the corner serves better...

Ordered a breakfast chorizo burrito. Usually not a fan of chorizo but decided to order. The burrito itself was fully loaded with rice and beans. It overwhelmed the chorizo and egg to the point I had to open up the burrito to taste the other food. I will say the chorizo and egg was skimped out on. The burrito was huge and too big for me to finish. The burrito was 13$ and could possibly be split in half for two people. Overall, would rate a 2.5 out of 5 considering it does taste authentic. The lady who took my order was extremely kind and was Buena Gente. As for the location it’s extremely unappealing and made me question if the burrito would taste good beforehand. Went here with my mom. I dont usually like leaving bad reviews, seeing as it may negatively affect their business, but i went in with my mother; she got a taco and i ordered a bean and cheese wet, came out wrong burrito. Server also didnt tell the plate was piping hot so i got a good burn on my finger. I got the wrong burrito and had to send it back, but it took so long we just asked for it to go with 2 tacos for someone at home. Came out 10 minutes later (we were literally the only people in the restaurant) and it was missing a taco.. total was 20 dollars for a burrito and 2 tacos. Definitely dont recommend. The food was good so if your hands are tied and youre ok with constantly buffering, way too loud music playing off a tv in a restaurant that didnt seem to care, then its worth...
