Pepe’s Finest Mexican Food — Restaurant in Hacienda Heights

Always looking for good taquitos. So when a friend told me about Pepe's I was excited to try it. Turns out they were right! We decided to eat inside and the taquitos were very good. Needless to say, last night we were in the neighborhood and decided to get some more of those great taquitos. But this time being late at night we decided to go in the drive through. Ordered 3 orders and went home. Probably the worst taquitos I've ever had. The meat was compressed like a can of spam. Looked like the meat was packed in a tube and placed in a tortilla then frozen. It reminded me of what comes out of a 1960s can of dog food. What happened??? The 1st time was fantastic! Sad that a restaurant can't be consistent with their quality. Now that I’ve tried Pepe’s a couple times here in hacienda Heights I can honestly give my 100% review and the price is just outrageous for the quality of the food. Everytime I come the meat is dry, the bean and cheese are cold, the cheese isn’t even melted and usually never melts, the meat is fried and hard and over all I cannot justify paying 30-50$ for two burritos 2 cokes it’s just way too overpriced. I can’t justify the price since the quality of food sucks. Tacos Mexico is right next door, just go there, way more delicious and tasty food and they have taco Tuesday. I once came on a Tuesday and told them about taco Tuesday since their sign was up and they stated that “oh that signs old” I could have argued about it because technically false advertising and they should honor it but instead proceeded to pay 20$ for 4 tacos.
