0 out of 10, wouldn’t recommend. No idea what the hype was all about. I had been looking forward to trying this place because of the reviews. Now i’m left wondering how much marketing money they spend on the good reviews.

We ordered a breakfast chicken fried steak, lunch chicken fried steak and a pancake kids meal. Everything arrived at the table cold.

Let’s start with the sides. The “ranch” potatoes and french fries were greasy and had NO seasoning, not even salt. The fried okra was wet with grease and no seasoning. The scrambled eggs could not be real with how fake and rubbery they were, and surprise..no flavor. The biscuits we did not even get a chance to try but the 2.50 for side gravy was also..bland. The pancakes were thin and very similar to the freezer ones that you heat up in the microwave. I’ve save the best for last…the flavorless chicken fried “steak”. It was more of a mystery meat that had uncooked pink polkadots. (Not even sure how you get that inconsistency in cooking meat.) “It”must have been dipped in wet flour and fried in old grease.

We had a taste of our sides and only took one bite of the CFS’s and decided that we were not going to continue to eat the food that was served. We politely (kinda even embarrassed) told the server about how the food was not edible and she acted shocked but a bit annoyed. We got referred to the cashier, who was also the owner. She was not very receptive, I explained the situation and she looked at us like we were crazy, and said that’s impossible because nobody ever complains about the food. (The reviews here say otherwise, but let’s continue.) She asked what we had ate some of and began to add up the à la cart pricing for EACH item. At the end, we got charged with what we could manage to eat. A slice of bacon, an egg, a small salad and a coffee. We were charged 21 dollars and no apology.

Yes, the I Love Lucy collection was worth a few pictures but...

I will start on a positive note. The food was very delicious, the atmosphere was very very cute, and the food came out incredibly fast and hot. Now the negative. We felt rushed. We sat down and our drink order was taken immediately (which we definitely do appreciate that’s not the negative) but then the waitress expected us to have our food order ready before we even opened the menu. It was our first time there so we didn’t have an idea of what we wanted. The waitress came back once to check on us after we got our food which again we appreciate. But we felt rushed to leave, we also noticed every other table but ours was offered drinks to go. We were handed the receipt and told where to pay. When we went to pay the cashier was talking to other employees while holding onto my card before running it. We also didn’t love that we were loudly asked if we wanted to leave a tip on the card and how much of a tip. I personally prefer to tip without being asked how much, I like to put that in quietly on my own and I usually tip more than 30% for good service, but I don’t want to be saying in front of several other people how much of a tip I want to leave. It made me feel very pressured and uncomfortable. As much as we loved the food and the atmosphere of the cafe we don’t see ourselves coming back because of the...

Review of The Bluebonnet Cafe in Haltom City:

If you're looking for a delightful cafe experience, look no further than The Bluebonnet Cafe in Haltom City. This charming little cafe has won my heart with its mouthwatering sticky buns that are truly a meal in itself. The buns are sweet, sticky, and generously smothered with butter, making every bite a heavenly indulgence.

Not only is the food exceptional, but the service at The Bluebonnet Cafe is top-notch. Jackie, our server, was an absolute gem - attentive, friendly, and truly the best server I've ever had. Her warm smile and genuine care for customers added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.

The atmosphere at The Bluebonnet Cafe is cozy and inviting, with a friendly vibe that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or lingering over a cup of coffee, the ambiance here is perfect for a relaxing meal or catch-up with friends. Finally the decor is so interesting with a room of just Lucy memorabilia!

Overall, The Bluebonnet Cafe is a hidden gem in Haltom City that I highly recommend. From the delectable sticky buns to the exceptional service from Jackie and the welcoming atmosphere, this cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable...

A nice small business near my home. We wanted a nice breakfast, and decided to go here. So they are open Thursday-Sunday for breakfast and lunch. The strip had ample of parking when we went around 10 am for breakfast. Has to wait for a couple of mins to be seated as it was pre Valentine’s day and a frigid morning and no one wanted to sit near the door tables. We were 2, but got. Long table that can possibly seat 12-16 people. The service was quick our order was take within 5 mins as we knew what we want to order. Later a party of 3 joined on other side of the table and as it was definitely a good distance to maintain social distancing we were okay sharing the table. We ordered, coffee, orange juice (they were okay, nothing too significant to mention about them) Migas and burritos looked simple but tasted heavenly, we loved it. The interior had a lot of Rod Stewart memorabilia and the restaurant has a small jewelry station too, that is marked as everything $5. Next time i go, will buy something as they had a nice collection. Business takes credit cards but encourage to pay cash, and we are glad we had enough cash to pay the bill and cover tip as we don’t carry a lot of cash with us. Do try this cute place if you are in the area and support small business.

Affordability was good, service was questionable, food was amazing, atmosphere was unsettling, and overall it's wasn't anything special When u walk in the carpet is dirty and the ceiling reminded me of my high-school. movable rectangles and school led lighting made for a classroom feel this was encouraged with the crowded arrangements of the tables and the plastic plates our food was served on. I came in as a couple and was seated at a 4 person table instead of at any of the many available 2 person tables. The waitresses seemed confused as to who was serving me at the beginning but eventually one lady seemed to stick. She forgot the straws but everything was okay. A little slow on the draw considering the place was empty. I ordered French toast and a side of sausage and my partner got the swiss burger both were delicious the bacon was cooked PERFECTLY. While we ate we looked at all the knicknacks on the walls pretty authentic in appearance but VERY cluttered. Some however where a little inappropriate if u look at my photos I took. Overall 3 stars because the food was amazing and the service was okay but everything else lacked. Might go again just for the food.

Historical, locally known. Even by people from out of town. Very friendly staff, they are prompt! Excellent service! Super nostalgic you have to check it out! Excellent breakfast and brunch. Lunch whichever! Everything is good here. The chicken fried steak is massive! There cinnamon roll It's massive! Just one. It's as big as the plate literally, and I said plate, we're not talking about a little saucer. They usually sell out. I would suggest getting there early I don't care when it is it doesn't have to be a holiday. That's how good this place is and how popular they are. Or around lunch time which you can still get breakfast. Only place we have been to out of hundreds being native Texans and all of the places we've been countrywide. I would say. One of the only places that comes close to rivaling Bluebonnet is Ginger Brown's in Lake Worth, TX. 30 minutes from here. One of the best both of them! Local Staples for decades!
