I don't want to give such a harsh rating, but I just wasn't happy with the food, service, or environment. For one thing, it was absolutely FREEZING. No heat whatsoever and they refused to close the door. I asked if they could and she claimed that there basically was no door or whatever and then as we were leaving we see the door is finally shut. We had to freeze during our entire meal and then you shut the door right before we go? It's 50°! Close the door! I got the 3 tacos. I thought the food would be good because of the reviews, but the steak tacos were bland and oddly very GRITTY in texture & the chips came with no guac or salsa. If you want the waitress (the receipt said Rachel) to come back because you need something, good luck with that! She was polite, but practically non-existent & spent a lot of time in the kitchen window on her phone, & we didn't get water until we asked for it. I would have loved a dip for my tacos since they were kind of dry & seemingly without seasoning. I called her over a few times, but she didn't hear me and by the time she finally came I was done eating & didn't need a dip. Wouldn't recommend & wouldn't return. Unfortunately the food was basic and I think they have better at Taco Bell. My boyfriend had a very little meat. The bananas were good. And I don't know how they will have a business in the winter if they refuse to close the door when it's freezing. If you're worried about looking closed because there's no window on the door, change the door! And change the decor while you're at it because it was pretty...
Read moreI miss places like this – echoing someone else on here who said they were spoiled by living in California, and miss the food. Finally found one that feels right! I've seen others charge $20 for half as much guac as here, and it will be a quarter as delicious. I was at first suspicious of the tricolor chips but they were perfect. Crunchy, warm, perfect salt. Perfect fajitas, veggie burrito very good. I appreciate that a hint of East coast is here due to the fact that we could get fries and plantains – which had the best, softest cream (it tasted much better than normal cream, sour or otherwise).
My only complaint is that I wish I could get additional tiny containers of salsa instead of having to order an additional chips and salsa, but I bet that's just a take-out issue.
Shout out to the server who was so very careful placing the items in the bag, making triple sure nothing tipped over and warning me about the beans. Protect that man!
I have no photos, we ate everything too fast. I do have a food...
Read moreWent for the first time today for lunch with my toddler. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked fresh, had beautiful presentation, and was very reasonably priced. (We got chicken enchiladas with mole, which came with rice and beans.) The staff was also very friendly and accommodating, and they even put Baby Einstein on the TV for my son to watch. We were there shortly after they opened, and it seemed like just the 2 kitchen staff were helping us until a couple other staff arrived later. I only gave 4 stars because the tables weren't quite clean and there were boxes on a couple tables, like they weren't prepared for people to dine in. It also was rather warm inside on this hot summer day - seems like no A/C. We will definitely return, though maybe just for take...
