I have a friend who was about to turn 60 and his brother, his wife, and I decided we needed to do something big for his birthday. We planned a surprise party with all of his friends and then one day his wife Marca said, "Tom told me he just wants to get a cheesesteak for his birthday dinner, he didn't need anything else real special." This got her to thinking and adding to our plans for his birthday surprise... she then used her "detective skills" to ask him at a later time about growing up and what was the best place he ever got a cheesesteak from. This information she was able to slyly get from him led to us tracking down the exact restaurant where he would go as a kid with his Dad to have lunch or dinner. It was a special time as his younger siblings didn't get to go with them. So it was his "me time" with his Dad. We ordered two of Gaetano's largest cheesesteaks and they shipped them overnight straight to Tom's front door on his actual birthday for him. Bill even included a Happy Birthday Tom sign in the box, we didn't ask him to do that but he took the initiative to do this for someone he didn't even know! Needless to say, Tom thoroughly enjoyed his birthday meal, it was meant for his dinner but arrived early enough for lunch so he wasn't waiting! The happiness this brought to Tom was so very awesome, it's the little things in life that we must stop and make time for! THANK YOU GAETANO's for helping bring this very special gift to Texas for Tom! ...
Read moreMy 2nd time here in about 3 years. 1st time I had the “OG” which was good. I’m always trying different cheesesteak spots. I came back today and had the With wiz once again it was good. I just forgot how big they are. Full of meat and great cheese sauce. I got a small and wasn’t able to finish the whole thing, ate about 3/4 of it. I’m a foody and I love trying new places and going back to other places either because I remember how good it was the first time or go back if it wasn’t that good for redemption. Sometimes a place can have a bad day. It’s hard to compare Gaetano’s to other steak shops simply because they’re different and that’s a good thing. I grew up eating cheesesteaks from Jojo’s on Princeton Ave in Trenton up until they closed, they were my number 1 and other spots in Philly as I lived there too. Jojo’s was also incomparable just like Gaetano’s … different taste and style of cheesesteak! I recommend this place, you won’t regret it. Make sure you’re hungry as they’re generous with their portions. If you don’t like their attitude and body language, you wouldn’t have like Jojo’s especially in the hood. Straight forward...
Read moreStay far away from this place, they charge $10 for a 6 inch cheesesteak. At first glance it looks good because its loaded with meat, but after tasting it the meat is very low quality it's a steak um type meat but not as good. The so called cheezy whiz is definitely not real I'm betting it's some low quality knock off brand from restaurant depot. Honestly if you want a steak sandwich you're better off going down the street to Jersey Mike's. I was very disappointed with this place because I read all the hype only to be served junk.UPDATE So I seen the segment about this guy on the channel 12 news today and he is talking about being bullied when IN fact he is the bully and a liar on top of it. He is going around telling people that I owned a restaurant and my business failed. I've never been in the restaurant business so I'm calling you out Bill Hansen, you've made these claims about me now back it up and let's see some proof or just admit you are a liar. I don't need to be in the restaurant business to know a bad sandwich....
