The food is good. I live around the corner and have eaten here many times (both dine-in and take-out). Just this past December we had my bosses retirement luncheon here (at my recommendation). I've had several burgers and also the chicken parmesan dinner as well as several different appetizers. Its all good food every time. The one recurring issue I've had, however, is with the system they employ to handle take-out orders. On many occasions I have been told when calling that, "we're very busy so you will need to hold for a take-out server." First, I almost NEVER have this happen at any other restaurant; and with all-do-respect, this place doesn't get any busier at its busy-times than any other quality restaurant in the area, yet this seems to be the only place this occurs. Furthermore, when you come in to pick-up the food, you are told that you have to wait for your "take-out server." So, basically even though there is someone standing there behind the front desk/podium, they cannot help you even if they're just standing there doing basically nothing. Instead, you are forced to wait (sometimes for as long as 15 minutes which is an eternity when you're simply just picking up an order that you called ahead for; most places you're in and out for a pick-up order in 5 minutes). So, while this server is running back-and-forth and back-and-forth from tables to kitchen and back again, you're left just standing there waiting for this ONE and only person that is able to ring you up and get you on your way. I don't know who came up with this system, but I've not seen it used in ANY other restaurant I've ever been to; and thats no wonder...its a terrible system. FYI: I'm writing this after just having been told the "we're too busy you have to wait for a take-out server" bit, which after several minutes on hold I hung up and went to Joey's Pizza just up the road. Again, the food is good, so I will always give them a try. But if I hear that "take-out server" line (and it isn't every time that this happens, but many), I will politely decline and go...

The service, under the new ownership, has definitely gotten much better. Even though our order was wrong, the new management was quick to resolve the issue in a satisfactory manner. The prices have increased too, but very insignificantly, and this is caused by the current states-wide inflation, so don't hold it against the restaurant.
The follwoijg was the review from about 8 months ago with 5 stars given back then, but just like some people change, places can change as well, and the change is not always for the better. Placed an order yesterday through THE RESTAURANT’S OWN WEBSITE. Went to pick it up holding the email confirmation regarding the order and the payment just to be rudely brushed off by one of the employees, stating she had no idea what order I was asking about (despite the confirmation email being shown to her, including the tip we always give despite picking it up ourselves) and that no order was made, but could be made if I reorder and pay again. Saying she had a bad attitude from the staff is to say nothing. After 15 minutes of arguing and speaking to her boss, the order was received, but no apology nor change of the attitude ever happened. To be fair, the food was good, but why is it so hard for some people to be simply polite?!
"Previously known as Rossi Famous Burgers, a cultural landmark of the old Trenton, started 88 years ago in Chambersburg, colloquially known as Burg, largely Italian neighborhood. Now, the old neighborhood is gone, the restaurant has relocated, but the food is as down-to-earth good as "back in the day". ... and it is not just burgers, there is a nice selection of appetizers, soups, steaks, sandwiches, and Trenton tomato pies. Will definitely try again."

Read moreThe actual dining experience wasn’t horrible and the food was good. We were there with a large group this past Sunday and my husband and I got a separate check because we only had a card. Our bill ending up being $30 and change. The other part of the group paid cash and $100 on another credit card. Their bill was over $300 dollars. Today my husband noticed on his account that both bills were taken out of his debit card. We called Rossi’s hoping it was a quick fix and spoke to Chip first. He said the manager was out till Thursday and there’s really nothing that can be done until then. My husband said that it’s a lot of money to not have it handled as soon as possible. He then transferred us to a Mike and he was EXTREMELY rude and kept making it a point to note that we “couldn’t wait until Thursday.” He also questioned us and asked about the other bill AS IF IT WEREN’T paid. He wanted receipts for both. Why would we have the other parties receipts and also we live an hour and a half away to bring them in person. He laughed at us as we were explaining things. My dad friends with the owner so I called my dad and he tried to call and figure out what was going on. Mike told us he would call us back when he looked into things. My dad said that Mike looked through the documents and realized that they DID make a mistake and the money would go back on our card. So no call back, no apology.. nothing? Instead of acknowledging your mistake, you made it seem like we were the ones in the wrong. Thanks...
