We stopped at the drive thru here on a Friday at 2:30 PM and ordered three combo meals and an extra sandwich. The line was already long, 6 or more cars in front of us, so we expected a bit of a wait. And wait we did! 30 minutes (not exaggerating) until we got our food and $30 later had me wondering if we should have just went to a dine-in restaurant. I'm former food service and so is my boyfriend, so we're possibly a little more understanding than some customers may be...we were playing a game while we waited..."Did someone quit? Maybe everyone called in sick?" It appeared one gentlemen was working the entire drive thru, taking the orders then jumping to the second window to hand out food, as well as managing the staff who were cooking. He told us at one point it would be "one more minute" because we were "waiting for fresh fries". Five minutes after that we got our food and my boyfriend's milkshake was mostly milk at that point (so it spilled all over the car) and our "fresh fries" were cold. I'm sure that One Drive Thru Guy was doing the best he could, he was super pleasant and apologized and I'm sure the other employees were probably doing their best as well. (Give that One Drive Thru Guy a raise!) At long last we got our food and cleaned up our "milkshake" (milk with flavor) spill and we finally hit the road. After the slowest fast food I've ever experienced in my life, we finally ate the food. My boyfriend's burger had virtually no sauce, yet my chicken sandwich was swimming in mayo, so much I had to wipe huge globs off with a napkin. What once was lettuce (I think) was soggy globs of sludge. I swear I don't usually complain, but it seems like some kind of huge communication break down somewhere or possibly poor ownership. God bless that One Drive Thru Guy and his crew that day! Honestly, if you want a burger in Hamilton, I'd skip Burger King for awhile and hit up McDonald's if you're in a rush or Naps if you...
Read moreI have never been inside this location, so all my commentary is related to the drive thru experience.
The food is on par with any other Burger King out there. It's more or less the same as every Burger King I've visited and represents the brand well.
The exterior seems clean and well maintained with the exception of the drive thru lanes. The digital menu boards have NEVER been fully operational. There has been a black screen on one for 6 months. It's annoying, and really sends the message that the owners don't care to invest in their business. During a December 2020 visit I notified the cashier that some of the printed merchandising displays were installed upside down and backwards in the frames and it made them impossible to read. He said he didn't realize that and thanked me for letting me know. He added "I'll make sure those get fixed". They never were addressed and only changed when the next promotion swapped out the signage. Again, showing a lack of attention the the business, or worse, deliberately obfuscating the offers they have to keep from selling them.
The biggest issue is the speed and efficiency of the drive thru order process outside the lunch and dinner rush hours. In the evenings they run only one cashier/expediter, who has to run from the money window to the order fulfillment window to get your drinks and food after taking your money. This creates a VERY SLOW ordering process for customers, who have to wait for each order to be complete before the next order can be placed. It defeats the entire purpose of having a double drive thru lane and...
Read moreFirst I want to say food was of BK quality. Could tell it was made fresh and its probably the only one I've been to where a staff came out and checked with everyone on their meals so service was decent (they seemed a little lost in the back though). That being said, there was a couple in eating that obviously likes looking for rocks in their free time and I dont mean the pretty ones in nature. Not a problem, the problem was they had their dingy little dog in at the table with them. Now I might just be old school but I was raised only service animals are allowed in places where food is served. Also not a huge problem but we're heading south in a hurry, the problems really started when the manager(?) came out and started petting all over the dog telling them they could come in with it anytime because he's so sweet. Then went back to the kitchen got bacon and brought it out and fed the dog. (Now I'm a massive dog person and in my own house the dogs pretty much rule the castle) But when the manager went right back into the kitchen to work without washing their hands, and the table was just dry ragged off not wiped down with disinfectant or anything thats where my big problem laid. Other than that not a...
