Spice of Life Cafe — Restaurant in Hamilton

Update 11/10/23. We went here for my birthday tonight. There special was amazing. Salmon and Mussels in a Ginger sauce with rice and Asparagus! But the kicker, the soup was Manhattan Claim chowder. Manhattan Claim Chowder is based in a red sauce, not creamy. It brought me back to my childhood, when my Mom would make this for up, growing up in Queens, NYC! This was amazing. Great food and my wife had the Small plate, Halibut. Fantastic. Then desert. The Carrot Cake, outstanding a d the Tiramsue, outstanding. Great service. What a birthday meal. To update. We went tonight 7/20/23. Wow is an understatement. The food, amazing Sky was fantastic as well. ( Broke my wrist-lol) the Tofu satay, amazing, salmon salad amazing, the small Halibut meal, amazing. Then the N.Y. Cheesecake! Superb, Reminds me of my childhood back in N.Y.C. My go to placw in Hamilton good wine selection as well.

Wow! Let me say this again! WOWOWOW! What a pleasant surprise. Amazing food! I had the Grilled Tofu salad and the Salmon.my wife had the Shimp Scampi Pesto. WOWWWW! I can't wait to go back and try some...

We were able to make reservations on Valentine’s Day at rather short notice, they set us exactly on time, the server was knowledgeable, very pleasant and on top of everything. I had a 4 oz Steak & my Boyfriend had a chicken of some kind. My steak was the perfect size for me and cooked exactly the way I ordered it, mashed potatoes were good a tad bit cooler than I like but nothing dramatic and the asparagus was okay, not really the time of year for it hit it was good. My boyfriend loved his chicken. We shared a chocolate mousse that was really delicious and he took home a buttermilk pie (piece). What an amazing place! The service, food and atmosphere were excellent! (Such a surprising little gem.) Great wine menu and the food/drink are very reasonably priced. You can tell the owners really care about providing a great experience and work hard to do so. While we were there a guest required emergency medical care. Because of this we were given a gift certificate to come back to the restaurant. There was no need for the gift certificate as the emergency was not due to any negligence of the staff/restaurant. But it showed a level of customer service/care not many places even aspire to any more.
