Costello's Pizzeria & Wings — Restaurant in Hammonton

PROS: Located right in Smithville. Beautiful view of the lake and picnic tables outside. They have a large menu and a variety of huge slices to choose from when you want a quick bite. They have daily dinner specials. Their spinach and artichoke dip was delicious. They gave it to me as a to-go order by accident but it came out very fresh and I think that's the secret to this place.. order everything to-go even if you plan on sitting. The girl behind the counter was very sweet, patient, smiled and made recommendation. They do bring the food to your table instead of calling you back up to the counter. CONS: I am a buffalo chicken pizza connoisseur as I get it everywhere I go. I can't stress enough how many buffalo chicken slices I've had in my life. Unfortunately, it wasn't good at all for me. I wish my review was different as they say they're known for this type of pizza. The buffalo sauce was sweet, the chicken was chewy and the slices were very limp. I did not expect the sweetness but kept an open mind about it. When I was almost done eating my slice, I couldn't finish it because it was too sweet for me. I can appreciate how they put a spin on it like (sweet heat.) Lastly, I know flies are annoying and hard to handle in the summer, but several of them swarming around our table was ridiculous. Eating while swatting flies off our food and face the whole time was not my idea of dining in. Overall it wasn't that bad and I might give it another...

The food is always delicious when it’s correct, and it seems lately that is the issue. The past three times I’ve ordered take out I’ve been nothing but disappointed and inconvenienced. I have ordered a white pizza before to get home to find out that it’s red and due to an allergy issue cannot consume tomatoes which was made aware to the counter girl upon ordering. When calling back no one answers the phone to make the order correct. Another issue was a dinner order, when my husband went to pick up the order they had given us the wrong food and my husband was instructed to bring back the food and come and get the correct order which the staff didn’t seem to care that they had made the mistake in the first place. Today I ordered lunch and it will be the last time I will order from this location, I called and the girl who answered the phone stated pick up or delivery I say delivery she says I’m sorry we are a pick up only location…. Ok but your menu and even the advertising on the building states you offer delivery as well as what I ordered states on the menu it comes with a side of fries which I ask to confirm and the same counter girl says no I can add it for $2.00 more dollars. I’m not sure if the manager/owner is aware of how this business is being run but it’s a shame I will not be ordering from here again.

very awkward place.. we wanted to give this a shot so we ate in and ordered a whole pie (the "fuggeddaboudit pizza") from the gourmet list, a chicken tortellini soup, and a kids mac and cheese. to begin, the pizza had barely any sauce and i think someone mentioned that. you take a bite and everything slides off. the dough is obviously not made in store.. it's bought so it's not fresh. the soup was just warm when it came out. they heated it up more for me and it actually tasted like progresso soup. my daughters mac and cheese tasted like the white velveeta cheese and quickly turned solid. ok i don't ever write bad reviews even when it's due but this place just opened and i don't think they have a good product at all. i wish...
