Updated Review May 30, 2024: Went out on a limb on Sunday, May 26th and gave Ever Grain one last chance today since the past several visits were so bad. We were in around 12-12:30ish and we had a terrific experience. We sat at the bar and had two really great bartenders that were nice, knowledgeable, and attentive. Our food came quickly (but not too quick) and was all very good. The beers I had were all very good as well (but the beer here has never been in question). It was so nice to have good food and good beer with friendly and attentive bartenders here again! The few kids that were here were either outside or they were well-behaved and quiet. So glad I can change my Google review of this place. I had about written Ever Grain off for good.
As we were finishing up, a children's softball team came in and plopped themselves down at a large table at the end of the bar. It was obviously unexpected because our nice bartenders were surprised, and I even saw management come out to assess the situation. Why in the world do people think it is OK to do that? Are you going to be drinking and then taking kids in your car(s)? Take them to freaking McDonald's! And if you are going to show up, have the freaking courtesy to call first. Still had a great time and I will be back, I just wanted to put that last part out there because some people are so selfish and uncaring.
2023 Review: Just had an absolutely terrible experience at Evergrain. So sad what this place has become. I used to absolutely love Evergrain but over the years it has just gotten worse and worse. Today... sitting at the bar, two dudes working the bar, NOT BUSY AT ALL. Took atleast 10 min for them to acknowledge us at all to order. Meanwhile they served person after person at the walk up. After 2 beers the only way I was able to get them to cash us out was to stare the dudes down, like hard-core direct and unwavering eye contact for several minutes. All the while they severed other people that came up or sat down after us. My mind is just completely blown. Never in my life have i experienced such bad service... just wow. I think I'm finally done...
Read moreI really enjoy Evergrain, I like the beer, games, environment.. so I decided to celebrate my birthday there with my friends. I called to make a reservation for 16, the guy that I talked on the phone said he needed approval from the manager for reservations over 12. After talking to the manager he said it would be no issue and confirmed the reservation. I asked if I could bring a cake, he said yes..I also asked if I could bring light snacks (chips, pretzels, etc) and he said yes, he just noted to not bring a crockpot. On the day of my celebration I brought what I was told to be ok: pretzels and chips. After some of my guests arrived, Laura (the manager) came to our table and said we needed to put the snacks away because they were not allowed. I tried to explain the information I was given on the phone and she had the audacity to say that no one in her team would give this information (effectively calling me a liar in front of my friends and the tables around me). I was very disappointed, at no point did she apologize for the incorrect information given to me by her employee nor did she attempt anything to try to make things right. She also complained about the balloons we had brought (these we did not ask about ahead of time) but eventually backed off saying "if we tied them to chairs instead of the weights they were tied to, it was fine. Interestingly, not too long after someone on the "owner's table" came in with 10+ balloons- no problem though. I expected better from Evergrain costumer service. Advice to those reading- don't trust anything Evergrain tells you on the phone and definitely know that manager Laura (if you interact with her) will not make any effort to improve your Evergrain experience. (There were so many ways Laura could have diffused the situation rather than ramming a rule down our throats with not so much...

Upon entering a 1/2 hr early the main room seemed nice, big, and open. The seating at the bar was full and only wooden picnic style tables were available. The only way to get a beer was to fight the crowd around the bar. So we decided to go into another room attached to this main hall room. This appeared to be another bar with taps, and there was room at the bar to sit. It was impossible to get the two bartenders attention. But when I finally did the taps there must not of been working, and the bartenders had to walk over to the main hall bar to get the beer. When I did get a beer it was ok. The Juicy Juice beer was kind of flat. Finally our table was ready. As we went to the hostess to get our table we found out that they had given our table away because we didn’t respond to the text regarding our table was ready. The hostess clearly knew we were at this smaller bar but wasn’t smart enough to come get us. God forbid we didn’t hear the text because we were socializing with our friend. So now reordered the table, which was another 30 min wait. I didn’t get much time to spend with my friend because I had to wait for the bartenders to get my beer from the main bar! The service was poor! When our table was ready my wife being on a low carb diet and didn’t want the bun for her burger. It took so long to get our food, and this was at 7:45 at night. When her burger came to her It had the bun on it anyway! The waitress was never seen from. I would have liked ketchup for my burger, but who eats ketchup on a burger anyways!! The waitress was so inattentive to us that we had to ask the bartender for her so we could pay for our food! I won’t be going there...
