The store Is very big and a lot of items, however I was not impressed with this store nor some of the items. The one in Lancaster PA is a lor nicer n has higher quality merchandise. This vist and items I saw overall were more junky. Granted they looked like had a large selection of pants and dresses but reminded me more of a thrift store that sold clothes and the clothes ended up at the thrift store twice and much looked outdated. My 3 friends with me felt the same, we expected a much better store and for the size of the store we expected nicer items, my friends said it reminded them more of a junk store and they go to many good will type stores and they were highly disappointed as was I compared to the one in Lancaster that even has many brand new items with tags. They did have I noticed a lot of shoes and also had a lot of baby clothes and walking by the baby clothes they did have some cute clothes. I guess my review is more about adult items and nothing my friends were looking for were found in the store and the household items really looked old , very worn n outdated. The store was jammed packed because they were having a 50% off day sale on this Saturday so very long lines and difficult to get down or to some lanes or by ppl because so crowded n you could not go past ppl in the rows because of lack of space. I did see a woman who had a cart had filled with shoes so she apparently found items she wanted. To be fair to the store this could have been a season where thet just didn't get nice donated items and got more outdated and older more worn clothing and that does happen but I don't think i will take the risk and drive a hour again to be disappointed when we have local good will type stores and consignment stores with much nicer items. It's extremely rare we go into a store of any type and between 4 of us we buy nothing and all 4 of us disappointed in the store. Many stores represent the neighborhoods and environment they are in so not sure what the problem was but for this size store i didn't see anything that impressed me or impressed me enough to even buy a item which usually I find several items in housewares but saw nothing that impressed me. I think if I was looking for shoes or boots I may have been more impressed and the shoe area was very crowded. They did however have some nice paintings, so that was a plus. So about the most impressive areas were shoes and paintings. The kitchen items and even the few technology items they had all looked very old. I didn't see any really nice dresses for those looking for work clothes most of what they had looked worn and not what would be considered nice to wear to work. They had a lot of mens pants and appeared to be a nice amount per size. They had a lot of jeans and women's pants if your looking for them. I just would not drive a far distance as we did to come here though. I took many pictures with my other phone i will post later so you can get a idea better of the items they had this day. Hopefully the spring and summer items will be better than the items in the store now. I didn't for a 50% off sale see any full carts except for the lady buying many shoes n boots for her family. The people in line to check out had very few items and the lines were very long and slow moving as I watched when standing waiting for my friends to leave the store. The parking lot was completely full and luckily we found probably the one of very few...
Read moreIf I didn't have to give atleast one star to leave a review I certainly wouldn't. My husband and I stopped in here today. I got a cart had it pretty well filled up and decided to go to the fitting rooms to try on 2 pairs of pants. I waited in line as did everyone else a room became available, it was my turn so I proceeded to go to the room. Get into the room, take my coat off and go to get the 2 pairs of pants to try on when an employee says ma'am you need to get your cart and go to the end of the line as we have a 10 minute rule, i stated I just got there and took my coat off to try on these 2 pair of pants so she again very rudely, not quiet and infront of countless customer's says "you need to go to the end of the line". I wad angry at this point so I left my cart sit with everything in it and left. I will not spend any money of any sort at this store nor will I ever donate anything to Community Aid again!! That was rude, embarrassing and unprofessional on her part. As I stood in that line I read the rules on the fitting room policies, 1 of which states only 4 items allowed at a time, maybe instead of paying attention to me who hadn't even had a chance to try anything on she should've payed closer attention to the lady who took her cart into the changing rooms that was overflowing with clothing. As I was in line I watched her approach a room to which had a mother and a younger child (under 10) in a room and she told the mother only 1 occupant at a time to which the lady replied "I am her mother and need to help her", the employee continued her ignorance with " it's the rules, don't like it leave"! This mom was simply helping her daughter.. Was never here before and thought I'd give it a try as it's always busy and my first time is my last. I always donate to help all the thrift stores out but this one lost my respect and money as I guess they were having a sale but my items were all red tags so it...
Read moreStaff at this location are horrid. Whether it’s the floor staff or the employees working the register. Multiple times while looking through the book section, two separate employees walked directly in front of me, stopped and carried on a 5-minute personal conversation about their sex/dating life. I don’t mean they were next to me chatting. They literally stood in front of me chatting it up while I’m having to look around them to see the shelves in front of me. When I politely said “Excuse me” so that I could reach for a book I wanted they looked at me as if I had insulted them.
Whoever is managing this place needs a refresher on basic customer service and time management. I stood in line with 5 books in my cart for 22 minutes with only two people in front of me with 3-8 items apiece. There were two registers open and two cashiers, yet for 15+ minutes both cashiers, the manager and a backroom worker stood behind the counter looking at a receipt for a woman who bought a table, but it wasn’t legible on the receipt... Really?? Four people to address this while no transactions are taking place and the line just continues to grow halfway across the store...
Here’s a business tip for management: Don’t let a problem/issue with ONE customer’s transaction keep you from completing sales transactions for the remainder of paying customers who are waiting patiently in a line that is excessively too long because YOU are inept in handling a transaction error.
I’m hoping that if I ever do decide to return to this store, the employees show some modicum of respect for customers and that management learns how to multitask and passes that knowledge onto their employees in turn.
Have a good day and best of luck turning...
