Joy’s grill & burger house — Restaurant in Hampden Township

So, let me start by saying this was our first time at Joy’s. The food was excellent and the service (our server was Robert) was fantastic. There was a mixup with our order and Robert took it upon himself to give us a discount before we even knew about it. No complaints from us.

However, I was having some serious deja vu. Have you ever been to Dad’s Garage in Mechanicsburg? Well, if you have, then you have experienced Joy’s. It is the same thing. Menu…almost word for word the same. Trays that the food is served on…identical. French fries…the exact same. The decor and feel is a bit different, less divey than Dad’s…but carbon copy in almost every other way. So…are these restaurants connected? Or is this culinary plagiarism at its core? We enjoy both places immensely…because they are the same. You can get an amazing burger at both places. Depending on where you are, you can pick either...

If you like Burgers, I got a spot you’ll love. It’s Joy’s, I just found it. It’s definitely my new spot.

You walk into a charming miniature diner and you can sit at the bar, tables or booths. You are greeted by the kindest staff on the planet even sweeter than the ones at that chicken restaurant we all know. You order and they cook it right behind the bar and you can see them cook it if you want to. It’s doesn’t take more than a couple minutes for your food to be done depending on your order. Then they plate it and hand you a beautiful plate of fresh and hot food that smells delicious. Dig in but savor this moment, if you love food you’ll remember when you first found this restaurant. Enjoy! And then come back with your family and friends.

This little gem is tucked in the Plaza on the corner. First off, its immaculate. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The staff was super friendly. Demi was our server and she always had a smile on her face. She was super attentive. It was busy but not noisy or overwhelming. We were seated quickly and they took our order right away. It took less than ten minutes to receive our food. The mozzarella sticks came almost immediately. All the food was hot and delicious. We ordered the Joy's burger and and regular cheeseburger. The Joys burger is two whole patties!! The buns were soft pillows, the burgers juicy and delicious. This place is definitely on my radar to return to. Skip the chain restaurants and grab a bite from Joys!! I could rave all day. I left full and happy. Wish I would've taken photos of the food. Regardless,...
