Seaside scoops and subs — Restaurant in Hampton

I was eager to enjoy a fulfilling sub while sitting at the beach so I researched this place beforehand and found glowing reviews. I’m not sure if it was the particular woman who worked this day and clearly doesn’t care about making a good sandwich or what, but this was the worst sub I’ve ever had. It was $15 and I barely finished half of it and had to throw out the rest, and I’m never one to not finish or waste food. I got an “Italian Stallion”. The onion and tomato were extremely lazily cut, it had maybe 3 slices of turkey and a couple slices of salami, and just a bunch of unwashed-tasting large pieces of lettuce thrown on top of cheap-tasting bread and fell apart after 2 bites. The aioli was basically just a slightly spicy mayo. It was a very airy sandwich, in this pic I lifted some of the lettuce to show what was underneath of the other half I didn’t touch before trashing. I’ve been visiting Hampton Beach for many years, and it was always hard to find well cooked food, welcoming staff, and a clean restaurant. That all changed when I came this year, to Seaside Scoops and Subs. Me and my family ordered food over the phone while at the beach. When we got there, food was ready, well prepared, and everything was delicious no doubt, they are great people, super friendly, and on task! Later on the day we came back for ice cream and the selection was pretty wide and fresh. I can’t point out enough how clean they were while handling all the food, changing gloves consistently and cleaning after themselves, it made me feel protected during these hard times. I absolutely love this place! The house burger is exceptional and you can tell that the meat is high quality. When we went back for ice cream later in the day, my 8 year old grandson told Minnie that it is the best burger he has ever had! Minnie is so friendly and sweet and was so happy that he loved it. The ice cream is Hershey brand which I used to buy at a small store in my town. I can't find it anymore and was thrilled to see it here. It is so good.
