Texas Fahitas were truly exceptional in taste and seasoned just right in not being too salty. I find several Mex restaurants don’t include tomatoes in Fahitas but they were included here w/ the green peppers and onions in the mix with chicken ,steak and shrimp all delicious. The server quickly said swapping black for refried beans was no problem. The kitchen had their act together that night. It was a Saturday when I was there and the dining area was very busy at 8:00pm yet I didn’t have a long wait before the hot skillet piled high w/ Fahitas was in front of me sizzling. I usually have a couple beers but decided on a salt rimmed Margarita instead just to mix things up and am glad I did.I believe Margaritas are made w/ a premix for simplicity and speed but it exceeded my expectations , not overly sweet and warranted a 2nd but I held back. I believe they are doing all they can w/ atmosphere but how much can be done w/ a prior Hardee’s fast food dining area? It was clean and festive but the real star is the food and service. I had a young man who seemed new to serving who was eager to get answers to the most basic questions and I quickly told him not to worry and placed my order. He checked back several times to see if the order was cooked to my liking and if I was ready for another Margarita. I believe he may have been part of the ownership’s family and was trying hard to do an excellent job. Upon leaving I was greeted by a man in management or ownership who asked I come back soon. I took a moment to share how good the service , Margarita and Fahitas were that he’d remember my face as a regular patron and he wore a big smile. Being tucked away by the interstate in Phoebus they are pretty much a destination point. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to confirm consistency in hopes I’ve found my new favorite Mexican restaurant. I’m also glad they’re not too far...
Read moreThe service was terrible and we had to send our food back to get remade because there were extra items that wasn’t told was on it or what we requested to not be on our plates. Our server was new which we understood but no one was with him for training and he never came back to check on us if we wanted refills on our drinks or to ask if we wanted anymore food or drinks. Then when we asked if we can get a box for our food it took over 30 mins to get one after flagging him down. We had to get up or flag someone else down to get help. After flagging the host down we asked to speak to a manager about our experience and poor service. The manager comes to our table and after we tell him what happened. He thought it would be okay to offer us a shot of Jose Cuervo when we were all ready to go. When we declined the offer and asked if we can get the price of a shot taken off our bill he didn’t say anything. So one of my friends said we just won’t be returning customers and he said Está Bien which is That’s fine in Spanish when he walked off with our monies. I guess he didn’t think we knew Spanish and thought he could be rude in their language. Wasn’t apologetic or...
Read moreI went to Tres Compadres today, and let me tell you, it's worth the drive, even though it's a bit tucked away in Hampton. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly, which makes for a really comfortable dining experience. My waiter, Marcelo, was awesome, incredibly attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed. I also had the large Margarita 🍹, and it was exactly what I needed. I ordered the tilapia, and while I wasn't expecting to see the head of the fish, it was absolutely delicious. The food is flavorful, hot, and the portions are generous – you definitely get your money's worth. I've heard the pork enchiladas and fajitas are great, too, but I can personally vouch for the tilapia. I love the close location and the not-far drive-through option. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, Tres Compadres is definitely a place you should check out. I'll...
