I have been a loyal customer of La Taqueria Inc. for over 5 years, and every visit has been nothing short of amazing. Located at 1818 W Army Trail Road in Hanover Park, IL, this Mexican eatery has become my go-to spot for an authentic and satisfying dining experience.

The ambience at La Taqueria is warm and inviting, offering a comfortable sit-down restaurant experience, fast service, and exceptionally friendly staff. They truly care about their customers, making each visit a delightful experience.

My usual order consists of the Mexican-style tacos with al pastor, but what sets my order apart is opting for a single shell instead of the traditional two. This customization is never a hassle for the kitchen, showcasing their flexibility and commitment to customer satisfaction. The al pastor tacos are consistently flavorful, fresh, and not overly oily—a refreshing departure from the norm.

For drinks, I always go for the horchata and Jarritos lime, or sometimes a simple glass of water. La Taqueria's horchata is a standout, perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. As someone who is a bit particular about horchata, I appreciate the attention to detail that sets this place apart.

Been to this place twice in a month!

About two weeks ago we had a trip nearby this place to do an oíl change on our auto, when we got our auto back it was time to eat and I had already Googled restaurants near by that had mexican food, this place poped up and I read the reviews and I notice most if not all people had to say only good things about it, so we just had to try it and make sure for our selfs, Been from Mexico, I know the flavor Mexican food should have.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by the owner, she was very polite and friendly, we followed to pick a table and as soon as the waitress saw us she came and brought some chips and salsa for our table and gave us a few minutes to decide what to order, she too was very friendly and from start to finish from our visit she ALWAYS had a smile.

We ordered some 3 water and one large Horchata to drink, a cheese hamburger with fries, some enchiladas Verdes dinner served with rice, beans and salad on the side, a gordita and a Huge burrito suizo, everything with Carne Asada felling. Let me say this IT WAS DELICIOUS!, everything was just right with the flavor, the amount of food in each meal was so generous, the Carne Asada portion on each plate was also very Generous and was Tender and Juicy, the rice was cooked perfect with GREAT FLAVOR, the beans were really good aswell. My oldest child said: mom we have to come here again, it's the best Mexican food from all I have been so far. Needless to say we went back to this place the following weekend since we were in that area. We had such Great experience the first time we just had to come back again and once again PERFECT from start to finish,, they had the same EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE as the first time we visited. I would DEFENETLY recommend this place to anyone that wants to try GREAT MEXICAN FOOD in a very Friendly Restaurant. Prices are just right, I would say very fair for the amount of meat and food they give you on each plate. TRY IT, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS PLACE! I will post pictures when we go visit...

In my two decades of eating at La Taq, I’ve watched the quality of the food go from great to absolutely unbelievable. We all know rare it is to find a authentic AND quality spot, let alone trying to find one out here in the suburbs, but La Taq overdelivers on both. I’ve also watched them expand the restaurant to fit the growing business, and then watch that business continue to grow time and time again. The best part about being a return customer is obviously the relationships you build, and I’m more than happy to say that the entire time I’ve been coming it’s been the same owners. Staff has changed here and there, as expected, but the service is always excellent and I’m here often enough to have gotten to know a few - shoutout to Kathy, you’re the best chica! Nowadays, it’s all to rare to see small business survive, let alone thrive, but La Taqueria has successfully done it for over two decades. It goes without saying that they’re my absolute favorite spot. Come check out La Taq for yourself sometime, you surely will be back for more...
