8/21/21 - 6:45 pm Made the mistake of going to this place tonite. The entire experience was completely terrible from the moment we walked in. While placing our order, the person taking our order kept telling us to wait in the middle of us placing the order so he could switch over and process online orders. Half the menu items were unavailable (no indo-Chinese, no noodles, no parathas). We finally placed our order after hearing not available for most of the items we wanted and went and sat down. After waiting for 30 minutes and the entire time watching people behind us get their food first, I walked up to inquire about our order. The only response was yours is not ready yet but people who ordered after us were coming up and getting food and it was the same items we had ordered! When I asked why our order was not ready when it’s the same items (dosa, bhel puri, and kachori ragda, all simple quick items) there was no answer. We finally figured out they were just giving the food to whoever said it was theirs and not actually using their buzzer system. We decided it wasn’t worth waiting and would rather go somewhere else. Asked for the manager and he did not even bother apologizing. Instead, he insisted we had gotten our dosa already cause he claimed he made it twice! And worse yet, when I explained that the food was just being handed out without any employees confirming it was going to the right person, his response was “it’s not my fault they are not using the system”. But wait, I was not the only person who was having issues. Multiple people had placed online orders and come well past the time their food was to be ready but it wasn’t! Avoid this place at all costs. Too many food options in this area to deal with a place that can’t perform even the most basic functions of...
Read moreThis is second time I have been here. As a vegetarian Gujarati Indian, my taste buds are trained to enjoy excellent Gujarati food. So you can consider my review genuinely if you are considering coming here.
Pros: 5/5 star for ambience, location, customer service and overall place presentation etc.
Cons: quality of food is average or below average for most of the items. Let me talk one by one.
Garlic butter vada pav is good but for the same price, HonesT offers two quantity (in India you can get 10 for same price) but I am ok giving this price.
Chilly idli: 0/5 stars. They used old idly and fried into same sauce as dried Manchurian. Worst item.
Dried vegetable manchurian: worst item again. Go and try HonesT manchurian or go to India and try Indo Chinese manchurian on street. Manchurian they use are simple dumplings and not authentic manchurian. Plus extra salt in in fact all items. You want to kill us?
Special Bhel puri: average taste. For the price you charge, you could do better. Nothing special about it. Even a street vendor in Gujarat can make better Bhel than this.
Rose Lassi: taste and quality is ok.
Cleanliness: lot of trash and garbage on table and on floors. Not a regular cleaning.
Spoons and forks: which century you live in? Now a days even in India street vendors use disposable utensils. And you provide filthy reusable metallic stuff? Grow up in the era of Pandemic..
Overall Impression: 2/5 star for ambience and variety of things on menus. But quality is substandard. Probably people will continue to come to you as there is not much competition, but the day a genuine Gujarati will come up with a plan- people will stop coming to you unless you improve the...
Read moreThis evening was the first time I went to this place and wanted to order something small to try out the food. Here is my experience and some observations. The line was very long. Though there were two registers only one lady was taking orders.Waited in the line 10-15 minutes to order. Just as I reached the register and was about to order , a customer who was already eating started talking to the cashier and went ahead to order another dish. I understand he was already eating but as a courtesy to me the cashier should have asked me if it is ok with me to let another customer order just as I was ordering. I had to wait more than half an hour for panipuri and Samosas . Pani puri is already pre made and samosa only had to be fried. While I was waiting for my order , I saw that a lady came to the counter and asked for one more roti. She was told that she had to stand in the line and order it.I understand that is the right thing to do but looking at the long line I felt that lady should have been give one roti. After all is price if one roti more valuable than an irate customer?? But after all was said and done, though I was not a happy customer , what made me give it 4 stars is the food and its quality. Pani puri was tasty. Samosas were not too spicy nor greasy. Next time I will order ahead for carry out but the only thing I do not understand in ordering online is that chutneys are crossed out. Owners please take my review constructively because strong customer service and efficient processes go a long way in retaining...
