The food, and desserts, are ALWAYS delicious! I have NEVER had a problem with my order either location that I’ve visited (Hanover Park and, Hillside) until last Sunday. I got home and noticed that the two extra sizes that I’d ordered were not in the bag, nor in their respective meal containers. I immediately called the restaurant and left a voicemail message. I figured I wouldn’t hear from someone until Monday, but then Tuesday came and went, so I called on Wednesday. I was told that the manager was not in, and to call back in an hour. I called back and didn’t get an answer. Called Friday, and didn’t get an answer and we’re back to Sunday and the voicemail is too full to leave a message. I simply want a refund for the sides, or to receive them the next time that we come. Unfortunately, it seems that there’s no desire to resolve the issue. Which is disappointing, to say the least. My only option is to dispute the charge with my credit...
Read moreI was really disappointed with my food from Priscilla's. I adore soul food, but this doesn't even come close to real soul food you get on the west side of Chicago (MacArthurs ftw).
My pot roast had ONE maybe quarter-sized piece of meat in the whole dinner. It was all potatoes, carrots, and celery.. The mac and cheese was not on par with "baked mac and cheese" standards. It was a solid chunk mess. No cheesiness to it, just a brick of pasta with cheese. The collard greens with pork were so OVERLY-SEASONED, you didn't taste anything but the overwhelming "spices" and salt. The cornbread muffin was tolerable. The closest thing to soul food we got in the whole dinner.
If you want to "try" soul food for the first time, maybe try something different than what I did. If you're well-versed in real soul food,...
Read moreMy first visit ever visit.....Overall the savory food was good. Well seasoned, cooked right, and traveled well until I got home.
Savory - We had fried chicken and catfish both tasty. Sides mac and cheese, green beans, yams all great. Side of greens was not good.
Desserts- Sweet potato pound cake was delicious. Sweet potato pie and peach cobbler where awful. The pie had this strange aftertaste and the cobbler was mushy with no flavor.
The issues aren't enough to make me not go back. We will just try other sides and stick with the cake for dessert. Not everything is great on every menu. Next I want to try the smothered chicken. I would like to get the baked chicken but they wrap it in plastic and we don't use plastic wrap.
Staff are very nice and the location is clean with...
