Went to the chimney rock location in Whippany today on opening day and boy was I not disappointed. I grew up going to the original bridgewater location which was a very nostalgic restaurant for me, so when I heard they were opening up a rock in my backyard I was ecstatic.
Upon walking in it was like experiencing a major case of deja Vu. With the exception of this location not having a dedicated game room, the layout is exactly the same as the original bridgewater location. Everything just looks a little more modern. Even the bathrooms were in the same spot. It was my first time walking in there but I felt like I already knew my way around the place the moment I stepped in.
And the food. The food was great. Just like the buildings layout, the menu is the same as the bridgewater location and it tastes just as good as the original. You really can't go wrong with anything here....
Read moreThe menu was full of great options, I wanted to order multiple dishes. Ended up getting the rigatoni with vodka sauce and chicken based off my server's recommendation. Maddy R. was very helpful introducing me to the menu as I've never eaten at The Chimney Rock restaurants before. The cocktail menu was notably impressive. I ordered "The Dawn" which included pistachio liqueur, vanilla vodka, creamer and agave. A combination I wouldn't think to put together, but it was delicious. Ended my meal with an espresso martini. You can add Bailey's for $1 extra. Some places just don't make an espresso martini right. Glad to find out Chimney Rock has a good one. Overall, great experience and look forward...
Read moreVery excited to try this new restaurant in area and it was disappointing! I had the Big Rock Burger with sweet potato wedges and my husband had the Mahi Mahi Platter. My burger meat was decent but the bread was stale. The sweet potato wedges were under cooked and hard. The Mahi Mahi looked really good but it was hard and chewy, never had that experience with fish before. Also ordered an Oreo sundae with vanilla ice cream. They served less than a scoop of cream, literally maybe 3 tablespoons, the rest was whipped cream and Oreos. From outside, the restaurant looks big… inside is a Small dining area, just a rectangular room with square tables. Service was great though! We don’t plan...
