First ever food review! El Paraiso in Elgin. Great food but a little expensive compared to other restaurants of the same quality. For a Mexican restaurant, they had delicious fries which came with the burrito special. Overall, even if it wasnt outstanding, the food was tasty and well made. Elgin is full of many great mexican restaurants, go try them out!

Ordered 2 steak and 2 beef burritos. The meat in the steak burritos was dry but I let it go because they put a lot of meat in them. However both of the beef burritos were literally soaked in grease to the point that neither one of them were edible. When I picked up the burritos in the tin foil they literally folded in half like a wet noodle. I thought okay, this is disgusting but I spent 40$ and I was hungry. It literally tasted like pure grease with bits of chewy gristle in it. I will never order from this place again. I only ordered from this place because all of the El Faros were closed for labor day. Absolutely disgusting, you guys should be ashamed of the quality of food that you serve.

She said, it was just the napkins nothing else, she removed the napkins and when she handed me the bag the outside of the bag also had hot sauce on it. Food - we ordered steak nachos, they couldn't even cut all the steak. The asada dinner, had aguacate on it that was clearly black..... maybe consider removing that part next time if you really want good presentation on your food.

Slow service for a simple burrito and tacos and some enchiladas which I am sure they warmed up in the microwave smh..... so I get home after a 25 min Wait for the food to my surprise burrito tortilla BURNT AND FLIPPED INSIDE OUT enchiladas cheese ALL COLD TORTILLA COLLDDDD!!!!!! I called to complain and the guy said if I bring them and show them the food they MIGHT redo my order so I just asked for my MONEY and they now lost a customer because my wife just gave birth to our son and really wanted the green enchiladas.... They lost me and family’s BUSINESS!!!!! Plus one of the servers said the meat was awful and really hard to chew I should of listen to her and walked out that place El Paraíso on Villa st in...

Always on the look out for a great Mexican restaurant with authentic food… This one was pretty good and will definitely be ordering again! Portions are very generous and price is good. I got the chillies rellenos and was pleasantly surprised!!! So many restaurants don't even serve this time consuming dinner, hard to find a good one. Very VERY tasty and came with avocado. Most places charge extra! We ordered tacos and steak torta for kids and they very happy and ate it all up! HUGE plus. Husband got steak burrito and was happy also. Only complaint was the meats seemed a bit salty for our taste but still good. Give this place a try!!!!! Looking forward to ordering...
