Montilios Baking Co. Hanover — Restaurant in Hanover

Last month I ordered an Italian Rum Cake for a birthday dinner. This is our family’s traditional birthday cake and Montilio’s has a good one. Unfortunately, the cake looked like a rum cake on the outside but was in fact a strawberry cake when cut. I called the store the next day and reported the problem. They were very responsive and offered a $25 credit on the cake. I don’t live near Hanover and asked if I could get a $25 refund instead. They were going to check and get back to me. Never heard from them again. It so happens that I was going to be in the area last week and called to check if my credit was available. It was not. I asked to speak to the manager I had spoken to previously and was told to call back the next day, which I did. I was told it was busy and to call back the next day. I opted to leave my name and number and requested a call back when it wasn’t busy. Three days later and I never received a call. I can understand that mistakes happen and that they don’t owe me anything. However, they should not have offered a credit if they did not keep their word. No more Montilio’s cakes...

I won’t keep flushing my money away at this bakery. The desserts look magazine worthy. But the taste and quality is awful. Don’t be fooled. My husband had an eclair today. Not only was the chocolate frosting hard the taste was bland and it was so large it was hard to eat. It fell apart...

Let’s be honest…. I could care less if the service was terrible and the atmosphere was terrible because the desserts and pastries I get there make me forget all the awful things in the world! But luckily, every aspect of Montilio’s is just as good as their products! And their products...
